ETA Anemic Oak posted about the feature 'The Day He Kissed Her" by Juliana Stone, I just bought this because I just read the first in the series [The Summer He Came Home] and really enjoyed it, would give it a solid 4 stars.
Yeah, I tried the code again just now and it wouldn't work anymore. Sorry about that.

Still free: Silo 49: Going Dark by Ann Christy. A Wool Universe story.

Wanted to mention that I read this and it was Fantastic. I highly recommend to Wool fans.

Anyone reading The King by J.R. Ward today? I'd forgotten how much the "e'er"s and extraneous "h"s drive me nuts... but I love how much action is going on in the storyline.

I still have to read the others in the JR Ward series. I only read the first two. I wasn't sure if I could handle more of the baby powder, the weird names and the brand stuff. And those boots. The story itself I liked, just all that other stuff that drove me nuts. I am also afraid to read on because I think I read someone that someone in a couple dies at some point or something like that?

Maybe one day I'll continue. I am always so behind on most series that its hard for me to talk about anything.

It's next on my list! It will probably be a few days until I start it because I'm still reading R. Lee Smith's Heat and it's another loooong one.

Yes. I have been told this by several LUNA authors ( C.E Murphy is among them.) I think they are restructuring their PNR/ Fantasy offerings. .

I know the feeling!!! I have read the first 4 in that series, and do plan to keep going. I have so many series that I am "behind" on.

I was doing some updating in Fictfact.com.com the other day and I have 200 series logged in there. I think I only finished one series, Sookie and then there was another added. I had thought I finished the Fever series by Moning, but then it got spawned into the Dani series. I think I am only up do date on a handful of series while waiting on the next. Most I am many years behind.

I just don't have enough hours in the day and then I keep getting distracted by the shiny and new and other recommendations. I think its very clear now that my puny human lifespan is not long enough to every finish all the series I started. Does that keep me from starting even more? Nope.

Me, too. And I can't count on two hands all the series that started years ago, that I want to read, and haven't even started.

I had advised myself not to start any new series this year....but one of the characters in my head saw a good recommendation on goodreads from a friend, and the next thing I knew, I am reading a new series.

I am hoping to restrain myself from starting any MORE.

It's a little hard to avoid new series these days. I just looked at the last 100 books I added to Calibre, both paid and free. Only 13 of them aren't already part of a series and that's likely to change as books published later make then part of a new series.

Not very many stand alones anymore these days.

200! Wow! I could not keep that many straight in my head.

@apesmom - I'd love to know if Heat is as good as LHG. And thank you again for the kobo coupon that allowed me to buy The King! $15.99 is crazy for an ebook.

I can't either, which is why I have fictfact. . If you mean can I keep the characters straight? Its amazing what I can fit in there. Scary sometimes. I do need triggers now and then, but usually when I start reading another installment, even if there are 2-3 in between, it all comes back to me.

I wish I could apply this immense storage capability to every day life. I can't often remember what I ate for lunch 2 days earlier, but I can remember what characters did going years back. What is wrong with me

I usually have to read a few pages of the end of the previous book to jog my memory.
But overall I know what you mean, for me it's song lyrics. I can't remember what I had for lunch yesterday, but can still belt out a song from the 70's,80's etc.

ETA, ANOTHER Kobo contest starts today! Great timing for me, hopefully I can finish off my Mom's library.
