I'd have to do a bunch of upgrades to our existing and more or less adequate 'entertainment center' just to be able to plug this in. Not going to happen.

Odd that it doesn't seem to have Amazon Cloud Player, at least to start out.

I currently own 9 devices that can do all of this, from video game consoles to my Blu-ray player. Streaming is so ubiquitous that you can practically get Netflix over your toaster these days, I simply don't see the point.

I'm glad I didn't wait, and ordered my Roku stick the other day. It should be here by Friday, so I can watch a little bit of Wrestlemania before bed this Sunday on the WWE Network.

Along with the voice search, the other thing it has going for it is that it will soon have Free Time, I can see this being excellent for parents of toddlers/preschoolers.

What will disrupt the market, I think, will bet next AppleTV device with Comcast integration. They are already in conversations about this. Comcast may give especial Internet preference to apple's traffic (not saying this is good) but that may move some people to one side or another. After all, HD and smooth streaming is key on these devices.

That will only be relevant for people who have Comcast for their ISP. Why would it "disrupt the market"? There are many other ISPs that are much better than Comcast...

Having suffered with an Apple TV2 I eventually picked up a Roku3... absolutely perfect for my needs/desires. Love the openness of it to the point that I can create my own channel.

Adding the Plex channel to the Roku3 and running the Plex server on my i Mac is terrific.

I have Time Warner Cable TV and so-called high speed internet, which is now owned by Comcast. Even with my TWC 20 Mbits internet I have trouble streaming HD video. The reason is that TWC has such a crappy infrastructure and outdated equipment. Just normal web surfing can slow down to a snail's pace. My AppleTV sits unused most of the time because Netflix and HuluPlus would be a waste of money with my crappy internet connection. The only time I use my AppleTV is to push my iPad or iPhone or Mac content onto my HDTV. I cannot imagine Comcast being an improvement.
