DoctorOhh is correct. Only when you joined as a new member would you see ads. These will eventually disappear as your user status changes.

I thought it might be something like that. The ads were too well integrated into the forum to be something Google was overlaying. Adblocker is working fine for now and I will hopefully have many more postings as my interest in e-readers expands.

Have you ever used Adblock? By default this option is enabled: "Hide placeholders of blocked elements". It works quite well.

The Adblock Plus team did put some thought into this, you know.

Yes I use it. But I guess it doesn't work well enough. If I do not log into Mobileread I see a space for an ad in the first post of each thread and randomly going forward. Of course if you had taken 30 seconds before posting you may have seen this too.
