The only thing in the book I liked was the story of Eve and Ralph everything else was just horrible.

That seems to be a theme with this series. I don't like that, either. It can be done well, but hers are over done, IMO. Way too much. I listened to #11 and I plan to listen to the others, when I get around to them. I might be able to tolerate it better. (First have to finish listening to Percy Jackson and Harry Potter.....so it's going to be awhile!) I skipped over #12. Doesn't sound like a romance at all. The couple is already together in the previous book.

Blossom, I would pronounce that name WOHL-CHYO-NUHK with an emphasis on the middle syllable. I think it's the diminutive form of "wolf"

Well the World War II stories go away after the first 6 books or so. But then she starts with story arcs and relationships that do not get a HEA within one book (or ever for some characters )

I gave up on Brockmann after she built up two characters as being a romance (had them listed as a couple in the polls she used to have on her website, newsletters, etc) and then gave them each a complete personality change and paired them up with other characters who also underwent massive personality changes. And then when readers complained, she said we'd read the books wrong and accused us of being homophobic (even though the book in question was not her m/m entry in the series ). She also decided even though her characters are supposed to be Navy SEALs she couldn't write about the Iraq War or about you know, them actually being members of the military I donated all of my books in the series to the library and deleted my digital versions.

/rant (sorry she's an author who completely betrayed reader trust)

Wow you must feel strongly betrayed. Well I am reading Library books so not losing any money. I like to read to at least book 6 if I can.

Ugh! I didn't realize that! I am taking her out of my library queue! I hate when that happens. I quit watching All My Children in the 90's when they did that to a character I was fond of.

I have a tech related question - totally off topic so my apologies! I just bought a new computer, switching from XP to Windows 8. I set up Calibre, transferred Alf's tools correctly and figured I was good to go. However, I one clicked Jo Beverley's freebie and went to put it in Calibre, but I can't find the file anywhere! I have Kindle for PC (factory loaded on my computer) and see it there. On my old computer I would find it in "My Kindle Content" in My Documents. Where would it be on Windows 8??

Nix, so sorry you were disappointed in both of them. I admit Twisted was really different than I expected, but I just enjoyed the storytelling. Play was, well, Mal was quirky but I loved him.
