I'm not sure what this bit means, Sara. The Dingo is a species of wild dog in Australian (made infamous through one particular dog's infanticidal actions), while the Blue Heeler is a domesticated, working breed of dog...well, a subset of the Australian Cattle Dog (there's also a Red Heeler, or they're all called Queensland Heelers too). They're a very smart, tough, hard-working breed, with enormous stamina (and sense of humour). I've a soft spot for them too, though they're not the breed for me (I'm none of the above...well, maybe the "sense of humour" bit )..

If I was to buy a cat, it would be either a Bengal, or a Norwegian Forest Cat (which are basicly miniature Lynxes). But as stated earlier, I'm not a cat persone, and neither is wifey, so no kittehs here.

As for the Aussie cattle dogs, they are a breed I really like. And we actually chose between getting a Blue Heeler and the Bernese that we now have. Choice fell on the Bernese due to the fact that we only have like 2 registered breeders of Blue Heelers in Sweden, and the waiting list is like ridicilous.

Sara, any chance of seeing pics of the Bengals? They are beautiful cats.

Mostly I am a cat person. I like waking to paw bats in the face by my 3 cats. Although we have had dogs, in the past. Our old Aussie was my fav.

Have waited a long time for a new kitty. Had it narrowed down to a Calico or Bengal......those cats are awesome indeed, even as expensive as they are. Swore this time I was going to get the cat I wanted.

Then my grown daughter found a piece of fur on the sidewalk, decided to adopt it, found she couldn't care for it.....so we took it.

Its not a Calico, its not a Bengal It has the most uneven markings on a black and white I've ever seen. Looks like someone threw paint at it. Its parents were feral, took a lot of 'humanizing' but now is almost loveable. It growls at strangers, and loves to wake me at 5:30 by standing on my chest and just STARING at me.

We've spent almost $700 on shots, neutering, etc. This is NOT the cat I wanted.

But I wouldn't trade him for the world.

Like we ever get the cat we "want." You know perfectly well that the cat is the one that makes the choice. We just go along for the ride.

It doesn't look like one of these kittens does it? http://deesinbox.com/2007/12/15/the-kittens/

And for anyone who completely trusts their canine companion go watch the French movie Baxter.
