How are you paying when doing this? When I go to change my country, it tells me I have to clear my saved credit card payment info first. I would think (hope) it wouldn't accept the credit card when the billing address doesn't match up, and I don't have a working paypal account anymore, so I'm thinking this may not be an option for me.

Switching back and forth my home country (Canada) and say India or Hong Kong, example, when buying books, will the books I buy from a foreign country download without any issues to the Kobo device?

That should depend on your credit card issuer. In Canada, most credit cards will charge a foreign currency conversion fee, which is about 2.5%

Some credit cards, for example, the Amazon credit card do not have foreign currency conversion fee, so it will be a great card to use for international purchases.
