Add to that the import/export taxes and fees that are added to the price of goods before we even purchase them, and we might be paying that much too. Some items, like liquor and tobacco, have extra high taxes added, but you don't notice those taxes because they are simply added to the price without designating it as a tax per se. Needless to say I guess there is universal disdain of the tax man (exchequer).
20% - the UK VAT range - is middle-of-the-road. There are some lower (I think the lowest is about 16%) and some higher (25%). Overall, our tax burden is pretty similar - it's just distributed in different ways.

And I didn't have any option to revert back to my pen name or delete my profile.

I was on the phone for 90 minutes to no avail. It took them 12 hours from when I reported it for them to revert my profile name back to my pen name and remove my address from the reviews (about 100)

Since then I have exchanged over a dozen emails but they won't or can't explain what happened. I have informed all the authors I reviewed that come 1st April I will be deleting every review on both UK and US Amazon. I won't review on there again.

I just don't trust them anymore.

I've been bullied on the Kindle forum over there so you can imagine my distress.

You don't have to take the iPad out of the case to sync up. My first impression is that both the iPad Air and iPad mini solar cases are very nice. It will probably take a week or so to get a true feel for them. I will say that these cases are a bit on the bulky side, which isn't surprising given that they have a battery built in, but definitely not for someone who prefers the slim, light feel.

The Amazon Kindle forum is filled with mindless fanboys, just like the Apple forums. I got banned for life from the Apple forums after retaliating against a few posters there who were calling me names for telling the truth. I got mad and told them they were bleeping iPodophiles. Apple moderators then banned me, even though what I said to them was way tame compared to what they said. That was at least five years ago and they still won't let me post there.

I have mine in a folio style case that I got at Target on clearance for $8.00. I have one on order for Amazon as well...http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I also have a Vera Bradley sleeve that I put it in when it's in my bag. I got the VB sleeve from Amazon too.
