				Mobi to Epub Text Alignment?

Greetings friends, it's been far too long.

My question of the hour is about the Calibre Conversion text alignment. When converting a mobi (or a PDF, or anything, really) to an Epub format, the text seems to desire aligning to the left. Here is an example (And yes I read smut, deal with it, lol. I've also been on a few book covers.): As you can see by the screesnhot, the text isn't central to the page, instead if is on the far-left. Is there a way to make it more central to the page? Thanks in advanced! Nicolescu |

There is an option for "Text Justification", with your choice of "Original/Left align/Justify text". It looks like your book has one paragraph per line, though. That probably means it was converted from a PDF, and you will need to "unwrap" it in the conversion settings, to make proper paragraphs that don't keep getting broken up in all the wrong places. |

In addition, look to the setting for Line unwrapping factor in the conversion dialog for PDF input and Heuristic Processing. Per default, these are set to 0.40 or 0.45. Make this smaller. I often use values between 0.12 and 0.25. You need to play around with these entries because this value is from book to book and content slightly different.

Edit: One remark. My answer relates only to PDF conversion. Last edited by Divingduck; 03-18-2014 at 06:01 AM. |
