My dog is sort of a non-speaking Gaspode. Weak bladder, mysterious skin disease, doesn't really like humans, bossy, but at heart a chicken. And don't get me started on the smell.

How could anyone not like VR and by extension, all dogs?
A friend of mine had a cat (a Blue Point) that would never do anything she wanted the cat to do. In fact, as she told the story, the cat would go out of its way to annoy her wreck havoc. (I should mention at theis stage that I am not a cat person.) When I first visited her house the cat took one look at me and sat down by my right foot. It stayed with me the whole time I was there and followed all of my commands (combination of hand and verbal) like a well trained dog. She was amazed. When I wasn't there the cat reverted to its old self. When I was there it was the nicest animal in the world. |

Well, there you go. Like kids, you often get the behavior you expect.
![]() Mine are actually pretty well-behaved, even the Evil Kitty, who came and sat with me and purred during my 2am anxiety attack. ![]() |

people always claim cats are aloof and selfish but my cats have always shown concern for me when i was feeling sick or unhappy (particularly the little bug, who is very sensitive), and it can be quite comforting.

Had cats growing up, so I've grown to be a cat person. I also think it has something to do with personality. More extroverted types seem to like dogs.
