Harlequin has broken up the 36 Hours That Changed Everything books into sections and will be giving away the first third of each book free on the Monday it's released.

First off, I seriously dislike the serial format! Second, having to pay for the second and third parts of each book will be $1.99 retail (so $3.98 for each book = part 1 free + part 2 $1.99 + part 3 $1.99) so the "free" giveaway doesn't amount to anything. (Though I suppose it does make the cost of the book less as otherwise you'd pay $1.99 for all three sections).

There are a few of these I want in digital, but not sure I want to take the time to figure out how to combine the three parts into one book. I'm going to email and ask if they will each be for sale as one complete book after they are all released. /rant

That's really odd they would do that. I could see if it was a real serial being written in installments but these are back list titles.

I just finished Ruin by Rachel Van Dyken, I think a lot of you here would really enjoy this book.
IIRC a few of you bought it when it first came out, but if not, for $.99 I think it's money well spent. And yes, it's N/A, but romantic and beautiful, witty, and sad at times, but it IS stand-alone. It really reminded me of just a good old-fashioned romance book., lots of "feels".

Didn't read any new books this week as I am still processing all of the books I purchased last week. I did continue with my Psy/Changeling reread as I find it easier to read in short patches and set aside if it is a book I have read before.

Just logged on to kindle for PC, been out of town so just using nook, etc. Anyway Kindle for PC wants me to install new version. I have Kindle 1.10.1 (40262), dated 8/3/12.

Any warnings before I do this? I know there are many Kindle gurus out there.

I have been lax in downloading the wealth of freebies last year and do not want to lose access.

You need to update or it will stop working. The latest version I have is 1.10.6 and that because I got a popup warning my version was going to expire so I updated I think it was last week or before. No issues.
