Well I had to get the App for the Ipad especially for this - not something I would choose to use. The file transferred to my ipad and I was able to read it but I have just checked and I am not able to transfer it to Calibre ( or see it thr' the iTunes software). I haven't tried to download to a kobo device as I keep the wi fi off to avoid unwanted updates. Sorry if this doesn't help

IIRC, the ones that cannot be downloaded are KEPUB only. There is no EPUB version.

156 books at $82 and change. That averages about $0.53/book. I can't even write here what these books would have been at full value. When I added that up, I almost had a heart attack. Hope everyone did well I know I did.

So far, I cannot download 3 of the 156 purchased. Still trying to work through that as well.

edit: in my case it was 106 books at $0.66 average, or $69.96. Total value $699.

But you're right; I wouldn't have spent $700 on books in one go... ever.

As long as you don't need to PAY these amounts of money, it really doesn't matter, does it? If the coupon had been 99%, you'd never have stopped buying

Can someone answer me a question about PDFs please? I had the misfortune to end up with three out of the 27 books I bought this weekend. 2 DRM free and 1 Adobe, all from the same publisher who I know doesn't use DRM so no idea why one was Adobe. Anyway none of them are available to see in the Kobo App.

I tried chat but got some rubbish about having to read them on my PC through Adobe Digital Editions. Obviously I'm going to convert them to epub but in this day and age why are KOBO selling PDFS if their own software can't handle them?

Just baffled here tbh

I'm emailing the publisher about KOBO anyway as this is an independent publisher who has their own website. I've bought over 500 books from them and when you buy direct you get ePub, mobi and PDF, so no idea why Kobo is only selling PDFs and god alone knows where Adobe comes into the picture as they sell DRM free!

Were these Sourcebooks titles? Same thing happened to me with a Sourcebooks title, except that I didn't try to read it in the Kobo app. I haven't found PDFs to convert really well in Calibre but maybe I don't know all the tricks. If I have to read a PDF I do so on my computer or send it as a personal doc to my Kindle account so I can read on my tablet.

No Dreamspinner Press. I have already converted them to epub. I'm just annoyed they won't show up in the Kobo app, and I just don't understand why

A) Kobo would sell PDFs when epubs exist
B) why one of them was an Adobe ePub when Dreamspinner don't use DRM. The other two were ordinary PDFs

Edited to say I convert PDF to RTF then edit the headers, footers and page numbers out and then convert to RTF to mobi and ePub. It's time consuming but it works well.
