Thank you for all the codes, btw, which one currently is the highest code?

Thanks

Well this is a bit late (but I was busy getting lots of books at 90% off) but many thanks to Lady Stardust for sharing the code and to Lynx-Lynx letting me know about it. I thank you both but my bank balance doesn't! I managed 119 books (told you I was busy) @ £54.06 plus one charge for 55p and no book after hiccups with paypal. I have reported it to Kobo but I don't expect it to end well as I didn't get a Kobo receipt.

Impressive! How many months reading material is that?

Not sure! I still have books from the last Kobo frenzy unread plus freebies I have from Amazon and my Angry Robot subscription. It is an enjoyable luxury to have a large library to pick from. I do read the addict thread in the discussion section, I tend to find more bargains there

Not quite what it was intended for, but I agree that it does see a number of anguished posts wondering about whether to buy the latest bargain. Or, more often, confessing to having succumbed to the latest bargain.

It appears for the time being we have to suffice with 50% codes

50feb (50% off)
yournext404 (50% off)

My own take is to read what I want most. At this rate, I'll die with unread ebooks and the money's gone in any case. Might as well start with dessert, vitamins be damned. More seriously, tastes can change at least a little over time and if something no longer appeals, reading is not for punishment.

There's the lesson there about buying too far ahead

that I have yet to learn.

In total I bought 225 books, and am kicking myself for not keeping my wishlist better organized so I could buy more. Not sure the total I spent, but I think it was about $156 CAD.

I certainly don't bother reading things I don't enjoy reading. If I start an book from far back in my TBR and don't like it, I now abandon them.

I just wanted to mention that I discovered that Kobo had this 90% off unlimited deal back on Feb. 2 & 3 as well. Obviously, something to plan and keep an eye out for in future. I don't even mind the fact that 2 books are not downloadable, although I am going to whine about one of them because I think it is an error. How are you supposed to print out patterns if you can't download it to your computer?

Going by the posts in this thread, I think Kobo has an unacceptably high rate of undownloadable books. I got two during the sale, also, and I've also bumped into this issue more than once in the past.

I've reported one and I assume I'll get a refund. I'm trying to decide what to do about the other, which is on my "offshore" account. Do I want to invite the scrutiny (as if Kobo scrutinizes! )? Obviously, given the sale, it's for a trivial sum. I'll probably let it go.

I haven't quite decided what to do about the 3 I can't download. Has anyone in here ever successfully found a way around this? If it was just 1 book I'd just leave it already, but 3, eh, have a harder time walking away from that regardless of what I spent.

I also found out that in India many books are much cheaper as in my home country. That plus discount codes makes really nice prices. But I have enough books. I will not take any discount under 60 %
