Looking over my receipts I discovered that I was quite restrained. Totals are 13 books and 1 short story for US$10.69 spent. That leaves US$9.31 left on my gift card for the next wild code.

Hmmm ... well all my 60 or so Receipts are in for under $60 (well some were bought with the unlimited 75% code prior to the 90% code being available).

I am relieved though .... jings I can lead a normal life today and not keep wondering what other books I can buy and if the code's still working

I'm just adding up what I got this weekend, and I think it comes out to a total of 92 books for around 35 dollars and a 25 dollar gift certificate. About 65 cents per book. Not bad at all! I got some books I probably would never have considered buying without the code. Off to earn more gift certificates before another magic code pops up!

EPUB's and KEPUB's are both just ZIP files with some metadata. If you break them open with a ZIP program (7-Zip works great) and look for the OPF file, you'll find the title of the book and author listed in there in amongst the XML markup. Even with DRM, this file remains unencrypted, so you should be able to view it just fine.

Kobo seems to have a very interesting marketing strategy, and I do hope that other companies copy it.

They issue a great discount code that sets off a huge word of mouth (and PM, email, sms, twitter, facebook etc) chat and sell how many thousands (?) of ebooks.

The effect of this of course is that not only does Kobo generate massive sales, but they also generate customers who keep checking out Kobo's offerings, and who continue to tell their friends. So a new customer base is another benefit to this marketing strategy.

Seems win win all around to me .....

It seems I'm even cheaper than pdurrant. I thought that was an impossibility

I purchased six bundles with the 90% off code, and paid for them all with a gift card from Swagbucks. Happy camper, here!

Just tried to use the 75% off code for the first time (I think?), and was unsuccessful... Is it an older code that I might have used before? I've read back several pages and can't quite tell.
