NOOK on the brain, what with all the nook-ie news in the last 24. ![]() Best Buy technically carries them but it is hit or miss whether you can get Kobos and which ones. Hard to see them offline. Though I have *recently* seen the original Kobo wifi at Kmart and Sears. Right next to the Pandigital eink reader. ![]() |

Best bet to stick with Amazon then I guess. I just don't see the problem with returning if you don't like the Kobo. Doesn't sound much like a hassle to me.

Looking at Kobo's online return policy, I would have to pay shipping charges. That would be a problem for me (and I would guess for some other people).

Bestbuy does seem like a good option, but be aware:

Even if each outlet only sold one per *month* that would be over a quarter million units, which is probably more than Kobo sells in the US. Add in showrooming and Nook had their bases covered, availability-wise. General buyers know what Nooks are; they just chose not to buy. |

I totally understand the point of seeing something first. Perhaps being a person that pretty much orders everything from the internet I am used buying stuff without seeing it first

have you ever searched a book title via nook?
You can get tons of entries of one book name. An author can upload and update his works, but each time create a new book. A library full of garbage without proper management is enough to destroy Nook's market. If you ever used Nokia phone and searched an app for symbian, you will know they are similar. they both produced good hardware, but poor software and messed content. |

I would never use in-built store to purchase books, I rather get them fom a trusted place of preference and side loadvthem.

I stopped at a B&N today and they still have Nook Simple Touch and the original Nook Glow up behind the front counter even though there are no longer any on display.

Amazing device. I don't think B&N meant for us to root it

I'll probably grab another Simple Touch with glowlight at some point as a backup since the Nook Glowlight has no buttons (and no SD card slot either). I upgraded 3 times - Nook to Nook ST to Glowlight - but the newest model was not an improvement to me.

Have you had any issues with the Glowlight screen? I've been worried about getting it damaged in my backpack. I'm still tempted to pick one up, even though it had all that bad press, and I found the leds to be a bit distracting. I'm still considering the Aura HD too, but I think the ST form factor is better.
