Does anybody know if it is possible to get the 90% code working from Spain? i only get the old checkout at when I enter the code it says that it has already been redeemed.

You may be able to get the new checkout by kind of hacking your payment information before you try to buy anything. That is, go to your account and change your location to someplace that has the new checkout. Then, use the site as usual to find the books you're after, and open each up in a new tab. Once you've got your tabs set up, you should be able to go to each in turn and edit your payment info to fix your country/province/etc., save that info, enter the promo code, and - assuming it works on that book in that country - complete the checkout. Since the other tabs are already in the new checkout, you do exactly the same for each of those. When you're done, a new purchase attempt should get you back to the status quo, which for you is the old checkout.

At least, that's what I've heard might work. A buddy of mine in the Marshall Islands swears by it. He reports that you might have to worry about geo restrictions in the dummy country, though; the same book may have a different publisher/ISBN there and thus might not be available when you switch to your actual country for checkout.

I tried to purchase a book just now and first I got the 'opps something went wrong message' and now it's 'code cannot be applied' so kobo may be onto it now.

I have just used the code once, in the UK. I got the "something went wrong" message at first, then switched to PayPal and it went through. I'm not all that sure my cc details are up-to-date on kobo, although I'd expect a better error message if that was the case.

I just used it on AUS checkout. No problem.

'opps something went wrong message' you got might be showing if you piled to many small charges on your credit card and they just locked it because of fear of fraud. That happened to me and I called my bank and they cleared the "frequencies" as the guy working there explained it. After that it was OK.

It happened to me with the previous 90%off code.

I just did that and it worked, thank you.

My cc info is correct and hubby just phoned them and they haven't put a block or anything on it, so I can only assume 40 books in a 24 hour period is Kobo's limit for my cc.

Not that I'm complaining at all.

In my case it looks like there's a 3 hour and 15 book limit, for just now I could continue buying. I don't think it has anything to do with credit card precautions, because earlier I couldn't use any of the 3 payment methods I have at my disposal, of which only one is a credit card.

Actually it doesn't look like it worked all that smoothly. I've had some trouble downloading the book now I've switched over to my PC (I bought it on the iPad), and I've had quite a few errors trying to access my account. It gave me an error when I signed in, another one when I tried to open the new book from the purchase history, and then didn't seem to want to open my library at all.

I have now managed to get the acsm file downloaded by just going via the book's page in the store. My Paypal receipt seems to suggest the payment wasn't properly completed, too: "Please note that this is not a charge. Your account will be charged when the merchant processes your payment."

Luckily I was only intending to use the coupon once anyway.
