Indian work, but there I have to use my credit card. France and UK does not work (unable to apply code).

I don't think to use false countries is legal. You just steal the tax from your country. And I don't wont to have some problems just because I saved some money.

How on earth do you get an account in these other countries anyway? The kobo website asks for an address there.

You should just be able to go into your account settings and change your country.
It asks for an address, but I don't believe it has to be legit.
I've run into issues where the dropdown state menu doesn't work correctly and doesn't go all the way to the bottom and says my address is invalid because it doesn't have a state. (I live in VA so this is a problem.)
I am able to just enter in another state even though my zip code should identify which state I live in. I have never had an issue.

(For legalities: VA does not tax ebooks, so I just choose another state that doesn't tax them as well.)

In terms of it being illegal (switching countries) I think it's more an issue of possibly going against the site's terms of service.

All of the books I've bought are books I would have bought anyway, even with a lower coupon.

I'm just kicking myself for jumping on a 75% code last night, otherwise I would have bought far more with the 90%, but I'm reaching the end of my spending limit. Even with the major savings - can't spend what I don't have!

I purchased 80 books today with the 90% coupon. Most of the books purchased were to fill in gaps in a lot of the series I have. Total for the day: $41.73. That's an average price of $0.52/book. WOW! The most expensive book today was $1.31.

I am stopping now! LOL! Good luck all! Use the coupon while you can.

Thanks Lady stardust karma going your way

This contest sucked for me, I played with 5 different users and only got one 55% coupon, but got more then a dozen 10% and 20%, I tried to multi tab the 55% but without success, so this code made wanders to my list, for today I'm done buying, hope it still works Monday has a book I want is released then.

I also like to pay with paypal but since India doesn't have that option I thought to buy a gift card, I like that option better that having my card information stored in kobo, since India doen't have the gift card option in the store, I changed my adress in the settings to New Zeland, logged out off the account, logged in again and the gift card option is now available. I select the gift card and the amount and proceeded to checkout, I then changed my country to India (in the checkout window) and it charged me in India rupee, then I claimed the card and the amount was credited in my account, I now can shop without entering the credit card information and without being charged a fee for each individual transaction which happened if I used my credit card.

Maybe this helps others in the same situation.

Some books are not couponable in some countries, but are in others. Varies by publisher.

I was able to use the code in France.

Kobo is VERY accepting of strange addresses, so long as the structure is right (for example, any five digit number will work for a US zip code). Unlike Amazon, where every part of the address has to be legitimate and match up with every other part.

If you're in Hong Kong you should probably expect to see prices in HKD. And there's about 7.75 of those to a USD, so that funny price should be equivalent to about USD10. Being in NZ I only see prices in NZD, and I haven't tried 'travelling' to see what the prices are in other currencies.
