Paramedics ... good idea, I'm working with my miter saw again ... and on teensy pieces, so I'll probably cut one of my hands off.

Scrach that .... I'm just not a fun person to be around generally.
Ah - but RM, try doing all that via textphone ..... although a textphone does automatically save the conversation - plus all the spelling mistakes .....

Look around the outside of the house, once that smell gets around I'm sure that VR will be there wagging his tail (and perhaps dragging his pet human along.) He does love his bacon.

I've done that. However, I really hate doing it on my cell phone because my thumbs get sore. I have typed some rather vitriolic verbiage via textphone to customer support on the computer. Tech support tends to be moronic in any communication medium.

I didn't worry about bacon that much. I did have a cat that tried to mug me for a chicken liver sauteed in garlic. Dizzy was ordinarily very polite and well behaved, but I guess the aroma was too much for him. My SO still breaks out in giggles when she remembers the look on my face when it happened.

And my late cat Kvetch had a thing for raw garlic. She had a chronic sinus condition medication reduced but didn't cure, and I suspect raw garlic was one of the few things she could actually smell.

One of my late cats had a thing for tea, which we discovered when she was still a kitten, with her head buried in a visitor's cup! The other didn't like the stuff, but would always go and see what she was getting that he wasn't, then look huffy because he didn't like it.

They did both love cheese though, and I'd often find myself with a cat on each shoulder (when they were both still small enough to climb me) if I was doing anything with cheese. Thankfully the boy gave the climbing up after a while - he grew into a huge cat (big, not fat).

Apart from her first taste, where I have no idea how much she'd drank before we noticed, I don't think she would have had more than a tablespoon of tea in total in the 11 years we had her! After that first instance, she only ever managed to get the odd small drop here and there.

Ricky, do any of your cats 'suckle'? Mine was a stray, found him when he was 1 1/2 lbs, wandering. Pretty sure mom was feral. He growls at strangers. Seriously growls. We humanized him by holding him a LOT, and now when he's in a cuddly mood, likes to just curl up and 'suckle' t-shirts. He used to like to nuzzle the neck area, but that got irritating. I figure he's just got separated from mama to soon.........

I had a cat who taught himself how to open the fridge door one Christmas, when it was full of goodies. He was 7 years old at the time, so I wasn't expecting innovative behaviour from him. I fitted a child-proof lock. That confused him.

Yes, and here I am, home again. Lunch in Montmartre, tea with Zelda in the 10ème, dinner in London, and now back near Cardiff.
Amazingly, the trains were on time; even First Great Western (known locally as Worst Great Western). I too am looking forward to the next Parisian meet-up (or, in fact any pretext to return to Paris, which is one of my favourite cities, not only because Zelda lives there).
