OK: Flog me! I just bought a Kobo Mini - white

I said I would never buy another ebook reader without a light. Then a few months ago, I purchased a used Kindle DX-G.

Then, because I like people to beat me (oh, yes! ), I just now bought a new Kobo Mini. (I would have preferred the black....)

I also just bought a leather cover from Skin Digital for about $15.00 and with free shipping.

Below are some photos.

I'll have my sister ship them to Peru - It'll probably take about 5 years to get here!

But first: Get out the whips!!!

Oooo Dr, you are so naughty! Where did you buy it? I have a white one, in a case that covers the white for the most part, like the one you ordered. The white doesn't bother me a bit.

I think my kids ran off with my whip....

I decided to buy it from Amazon, where it was listed as being available from a third party. There was no discount, but I had some money from some credit because I sold my PW1 to Amazon during Christmas, and then purchased a PW2 - which I love, by the way.

It's brand new, and should be here in 6-8 weeks.

Seems to be a shortage on the black, even Kobo is out of it. I guess we'll never see at for $40 again. Bummer!

Wouldn't flog you Dr. Drib. The Mini is my favorite reader outside of my house. It's the one that is always on the road with me. Great little reader.

Picked one up when they had the $40 deal. Got the white one and I think its a nice little ebook reader. Picked up a hemp cover for $5 on Amazon and it fit great. Also picked up a cheap clip on light and all is good. What I love is how portable it is and great for trips. Yeah you probably have more page turns, but who cares. Great little gadget.

I've owned two previous 5-inch Readers - the Astak and the Pocketbook 360. I enjoyed both, but I would truly like one where I can just tap the screen for all commands.

The black is much more of a fingerprint magnet than the white. The mini is a nice little ereader, I hope you'll like it.

Thank you.

It'll be shipped from my father's house and will arrive in approx. 6 weeks.

Right now, I'm waiting for the arrival of the case before both items are shipped to Peru.

I've got the same case (as illustrated by you above) for my Glo. I got it in December 2012 and it's still in great shape, hasn't weathered to any degree and folds back well. It gets a lot of use because the Glo is my primary reader.

No complaints

Great! That's encouraging. I can't wait for both items to get here.

OK, here you go:

Hm. He stopped moving? Ah well...

Now you have an oldish 5 inch Kobo (with regard to firmware), a new 6 inch Kindle, and an ancient 9.7 inch Kindle.

HOW in the name of crazy frackiness are you going to decide which reader to use? I am contemplating an Aura HD again, because of the big screen, and font options (see the thread in this forum), fuelled by a huge €50-60 price drop in the Netherlands.

I'm already having problems deciding wether to use the KPW1 or the AHD, and I haven't even decided if I'm even going to buy/try the latter

Katsunami, the Mini firmware has been updated few months ago. I admit it doesn't have the same home screen, nor the same behaviour pattern as the Glo/Aura/Aura HD. Yet, it isn't left to decay on the side of the road

I have a number of ways to determine which one to use:

1) I juggle them, and whichever one I drop I use and then create a thread and start whining about how I didn't do anything to it to cause it to break.

2) Keep only Indy novels on one (although, according to the description of some of the books by these 'authors', their 'novels' are only 30 or pages long).

3) Whichever unit will hold my entire library of 597,002 & 1/2 novels. After all, if I can't get my entire library on them, why buy one?

So you see, life is short but ebook Readers have a shorter life span.
