Working on repairing my computer. I think I found the problem with the mobo, although how the little bugger came unattached is beyond me. I soldered the boo-boo, and got to the BIOS, so now I'm sticking stuff back in, one item at a time, and testing ... testing. With luck, I'll have it all back together by the end of the weekend.

R Sir E: I verified my Paypal via a snail mail letter. One might have to talk to somebody to get that to still work (if it's possible). But yeah, I refuse to give them a bank account number. But it's verified, and I get to use a credit card, so I'm very happy.

Right now: trying to type with a shih tzu puppy shoving his head under my hand for "scritches". Makes it very hard to type!

thanks bgd ! nice catch. actually i wrote to the seller and asked if they would ship to france before bidding, they said it would cost 10$. i don't mind if you have it shipped to you first if you want to take a look at it though.

It was listed as ex-library with the card pocket and card in place... You might sign the card as BadgoodDeb before you ship it...

no worries vr, ebay will only augmente your bid to the minimum level to win. if you bid 20$ but the current winning bid is only 7$, ebay will count your bid as 7.50$ (just enough to win) unless someone else bids higher again.

actually bgd since you're planning to read it before sending it along you can put an end to the suspense for me and tell me if it is in fact the book i've been looking for (as i said, i'm not sure of the title) : it should be about the narrator and a cranky, bad-tempered pipe-cleaner man (man made out of pipe-cleaners, i mean), presumably called frumpet, who has many tribulations in his daily life due to his small size and complains about them.

for instance, he has trouble drinking water, because of the water surface tension. he has trouble with his car (which is powered by a wound-up rubberband) because at his small size winding the rubber band is impossible. i forget all the details.

i believe the narrator falls asleep while looking through a microscope at the beginning of the book and this is how he finds himself on the same level as frumpet and able to communicate with him, but it's been a long time since i read it so i could have imagined that part.

Yeah -- I actually bid $27.97. I like to use odd numbers. If the other bidder had put a round number -- like $25, then I would still have beat them. And that's why I do the bidding in the last 15 seconds. Odds are the other person only bid 1 buck above the prev price -- in which case I'll get it for $7.50, as actually occurred.

I paid for it right after the auction. I'll let you all know what the book is, when it arrives. And it if has a signable card, I'll separately mail that to VR and RSirE while the book is winging its way to France.
