I remember auditing classes and hoping someone would drop out and I could get the spot. Are you doing this for that fifth class?

Right now, I have finished my weekend to do list and trying to decide if I should get a least a couple of those done today.

Yes and no... I have declared a major (Japanese), but only because Financial Aid requires me to do so. In practice I'm trying to keep my opens open right now.

Actually the subject for the class I'm auditing... Anthropology... interests me more than anything else. I was going to add it if possible, but honestly it's enough that I'll be able to attend the lectures.

I've always though it was an exciting subject. How did you decide to choose Anthropology? I became interested by watching history channel and reading old mystery books.

Right now, I'm ignoring my to do list, as the weather has turned out to be not so nice to be out and about today. Actually, any excuse would work, but the weather helped.

I left Vegas at the beginning of June, last year. My mother was nearing the end of her life and it was agreed that she and I should both be closer to the rest of the family.

Preparing to reset and update the router today. We've been having problems with it for a while now and our ISP (who loaned us the router) advised us to update it to the latest firmware since the problem we're having is known to them and a firmware update should solve it.

However, my father has forgotten the router's password so we have to do a factory reset first.

I'm now compiling a list with all the data we need to hopefully set it up as it was (ip address, name, password) so we don't have to change all the electronics connected to it. I've also downloaded the manual and printed the step by step of firmware updating from our ISP's website, so that if we are without internet we still have the documentation.

So ... the frozen south is thawing out ... drivers forced to drive VERY slowly & courteously, or trapped at home, are loosed upon the roads today.....

So ... I drove to the grocery store ... with cars glued to my rear bumper yearning to speed by me ... cars were whizzing in & out of the parking lot ... ignoring stop signs .... sort of a life size bumper cars ride ...

I do the shopping for the family, and I almost always go out between 9:00 and midnight (when the grocery stores around me close). The parking lots are much safer to navigate.

I'm gathering strength to go out and finish shoveling my path up the driveway so we can reach the cars. I want to make sure I get that done before our next snow. On Tuesday.

Well, that went quite well. Because of the Olympics we postponed the reset and updating to tonight. I expected hours of cursing, resetting, trying again but it all went smoothly and within half an hour internet was up and running again. Only the internet telephone needs to set up again but that my father has to do on his own.

Normally these things aren't as easy to do, so now I'm worrying what will go wrong instead....
