Question kobo arc - let calibre manage=yes - where are the books

as per the title.

i bought a new Kobo arc tablet, ( not primarily as a reader but figured I'd try it)
so I connect to PC, calibre pops up: kobo arc detected let calibre manage it ?
I say yes, then proceed to send some (epub) books to device, eject device...

but on the device itself, in the reading - library section it says that i have no books.
so a "for dummies" explanation + guide please.

it seems to me misleading that calibre offers to manage it if it' not able to do what I understood that to mean ?

I'm guessing that the books are on there but in the "wrong" location & that other tricks wil be required to make them visible ?

update , well I have partly puzzled this out. I had to launch the kobo app then find the import books option( it says import from the storage card but actually it's from main memory because I have not added any storage). That finds & imports the books sent from calibre into the Kobo library... BUT when I import, I'm asked whether to delete them from the "card" . IF I say NO -my current choice- then they will be stored twice ? but if I say yes, then that will destroy or confuse calibre's record of what it has sent to device ??
