http://www.improvelectronics.com/pro...rd-sync-9.html " Boogie Board LCD eWriters utilize a reflective, pressure-sensitive, plastic liquid crystal display (LCD). Images are created by pressing on the LCD with a stylus, fingernail or other instrument. To clear the LCD, an erase button is pushed. This tells the electronics, which are powered by a battery, to erase the image by applying an electric field to the LCD. Boogie Board LCD eWriters use a direct, free form method to create an image that simulates the experience of handwriting or drawing with pencil/pen on paper. Line width is proportional to the amount of pressure applied, just like pencil on paper. Because of these functional characteristics, Boogie Board LCD eWriters are perfect as a multi-purpose paperless replacement for memo pads and notebooks (Sync model). Use them to write memos, leave messages, make lists, jot down ideas, play games, practice handwriting/arithmetic, diagram the winning play, and yes, draw pictures (with shading)... " Boogie Board Sync 9.7 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OM7hC9mz920 The combination of paper-like reflective low-power color LCD 10" tablet and good stylus would be the killer device for me, but regrettably it will probably take another couple of years before some device finally hits the market, now that Amazon owns Liquavista and Pixel-Qi and Mirasol failed to deliver. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mdXu9jmTI2A Last edited by markom; 02-08-2014 at 08:36 AM. |

Its almost like they want the device to fail. I can off-hand only quote the variety of mobiles from sharp/pana/fujitsu/sony etc.,. The Fujitsu Flepia, never saw outside world probably not even within, even though it was revolutionary tech. It was priced similar to the sony DPT. Interesting models, both 6'' LCD. More similar to the Asus EA800, I guess. |

He seems very happy with it, main complaint is price. From a Chinese perspective it costs as much has his smoking for a whole year!

Harry! I see that you have never been to China. All the old Commie stalwarts are heavy on the smoking. It's like the only Right they are entitled to.

SONY has released the first firmware update for DPT-S1. So by analyzing the update one may be possible to hack the device? I think it's still an android based device like T1 and T2.

After extracting the update package, it's quite possible that DPT-S1 is runng on android.

I'm fairly sure it is running on Android, but a hampered version. Someone should try and flash a stock ICS on it.
