I can't say for sure. I know they do with books for the German market but they are agency priced so they would cost the same no matter if I buy from Kobo or Amazon - I just rarely buy German books.

But I guess that Amazon does the same for all of the ebooks they sell.

And in Canada, it's 15.99 at both Amazon and Kobo. That's the .ca version of Amazon. When I look at the .com version the book is $17.00

Kobo and Amazon Aus are often reasonably closely priced, but Kobo can be dearer across different ranges of books.

But - and this is the big difference for me - with Kobo I can choose which country to shop in without using a VPN unlike Amazon.

Kobo's discount codes are excellent and the main reason why I now have an elibrary of bought books (not just free books eg freebies + Gutenberg).

There's one 50% code and other codes on offer this month so far, and I trip over Kobo free ebooks when I'm checking out other books - so there's nothing to moan about from my perspective.

I do not consider 50% off as a "lower code".

But I have seen books around 11 Euro on Amazon and 19 on the Kobo site. With 30% or 35% off Amazon is still much cheaper. (I'm not saying always...)

50% off is a different matter altogether.
