Glad the voltage regulator I ordered came today. It won't stop my PC from losing power if we have an outage during tomorrow's snow/ice storm, but at least it should offer significantly better protection against voltage spikes than a surge suppressor alone.

Our forecast worsens each time I view it (maybe I should just ignore it?) - snow starting at noon, then sleet, then transitioning to freezing rain at 5-ish - all night long (accumulation estimates are frightening), then snow again tomorrow .....

People are going insane here - buying batteries, generators, rock salt, etc.

I'm not seeing anything too awful in our forecast: sleet from 2 until 8, followed by light rain.

Then again, I remember one forecast in the early 80s for one or two inches of snow that turned into around 14 inches of the white stuff.

The snow is really coming down now, and it's sticking everywhere. Just let the dogs out. Norton ran out and ran right back in. He's done with snow. Crystal's enjoying it. I think she has antifreeze in her blood.

Not snowing here, yet. But a lot of area businesses let out early, so rush hour started at about 3:30. The snow is still on track for about midnight. I figure we'll be able to come back out of the house on Saturday. Or, maybe Sunday.

It's still hot here, but it's not officially Stinking Hot, so that's something. Lots of strong easterly winds, though, so things still keep burning.

It's raining now. It will be interesting to see what the roads are like tomorrow. My wife hasn't heard from the school yet, but I doubt seriously there will be any school tomorrow.

As much as I am completely sick and tired of snow and really cold temperatures I will still take them over the heat and complications you are getting.

I measured 7" of snow before the sleet started. It has not stopped precipitating since 9am in Charlotte. What I would not give be back home in Chapel Hill at any rate. People down in Charlotte are even MORE ridiculous about driving in this weather.

You know, you guys down there could have taken more if you wanted -- you didn't have to send this much snow my way!

It's just started. We're currently forecast to get 12 to 14 inches of snow, ice, sleet, and more snow, before it ends sometime Friday morning.

(I have to find a towel! I'm going to throw it in!)
