I do the same, it's perfect for regular, but italics are rendered as bold... If you have a solution. Maybe it's because I use the otf font?

There could also be a problem with the internal font names. IIRC I fixed them before installing the font on my HD. Why don't you just try the set I use, see if it works better? I have no issues whatsoever with it.

Ah Comic Sans... I once came across a website where you could enter your own url, and see the site with all the fonts replaced with Comic Sans. Being a non-fan, I was horrified to notice that it actually looked really well on my own site Didn't convince me to start using it though.

Back on topic: It seems that everyone has very different tastes! I tried some different once again and still hated them, so I think I'm sticking to Georgia for me. Sans serif definitely doesn't work for me when reading it seems. Though I prefer it for websites. (My own is in Trebuchet, love it!)

For those of you with dyslexia, my kobo has 2 fonts called "Dyslexie" and "OPenDyslexic". They are a little more "childish" looking like comic sans. Can anyone explain why those kind of fonts are easier to read for dyslexic people?

I wonder if they will also be nicer for me when I have a migraine.

The reasoning is that people with dyslexia often have difficulty perceiving the letters as stable and fixed in their spots, so the heavier lower part is supposed to help keep the letters "in place". Didn't work on the dyslexics I tried it on, but my sample has been very small so far (two, to be precise...)

Any dyslexics on the board here who could give their impression of those Dyslexic fonts?

This is where I have found many of my favorite fonts. It's a great resource, because not only are the fonts free, but you can sort them based on Serif or Sans Serif, number of "styles" (Bold, Italic, Regular, BoldItalic, etc...) So it's pretty easy to find what you're looking for.

I don't think it looks similar to Comic Sans, fortunately. But it is a very clear, easily readable font. I don't like it on my reader, but I use it for all the handouts I prepare for my students. Experimented with some regular serif font recently, because I was a bit tired of Trebuchet, but students (elderly ladies, in that case) complained at once and demanded their Trebuchet back.
I can't stand Open Dyslexia. I grew up on Comic Sans but now I prefer the fonts I listed but keep in mind I've alter them to work with my form of dyslexia and yes Trebuchet does look like Comic sans to me once you add alot of weight to it and stick it on a eReader.

I'm with Blossom a few pages back - some books just need a good, old fashioned font. I wouldn't mind a 'bad typeset on cheap paperstock' font for Jim Thompson novels.
I use a paperback texture background to read on and really black fonts. I've yet to find that actually comes close to stamped paperback look but it's good enough for me.

Horrible! The thing with Dyslexia is no cases are alike. So there may be some out there that is does help but for me it hard to read and gives me headache. I think Trebuchet is one of the best I have found for me when it comes to my condition on eInk not so much on Tablets it renders quite differently for that I found Slab-Serif fonts work better like Amasis once it was resized and weight added. However when I am stressed or it's really acting up due to being tired then no font works I switch to audio books.

It's my favorite background it comes in Moon+ app I just back it up to a apk then open it with winrar found the texture and desaturated a bit to my liking. I can read for hours with it using Amasis Resized or Gentium Book XL or Palatino Tall.

I find it difficult to read anything but sans serif. I like Droid sans and Roboto because they are very plain. The only thing I don't like about them is that a capital I looks like a lower case L. Verdana differentiates the two so I use that alot. The one problem for me with most sans serif fonts is that they use a serif q. To me a serif q looks like a g and it distracts me enough that it's difficult to read.

Edit: actually they use a serif g, not q, but it looks like a q to me. See how confused it makes me?
