The review has to go on the Kobobooks site. You have to follow a link they email you (personalized link to your own account; mine will do you no good) to make the review, and then they send you the code once the review goes live on their site. The email fine print:

actually, I think it is a generic link, because I could not find the kobo email anymore, so just googled it. This should work:

you have to enter a review for any book, and you can only do this once per account. You will then get a code, but it is valid for any account, so in theory of course, people could insert reviews with different accounts and use the discount on their main account...

Only thing, going by memory I think Feb 8th is the last day to upload reviews, though it would not look like this from the small print, so I may be wrong on the deadline.

I don't see anything about Feb,8 but coupons lasting till Feb, 27 (or something like that).

I submitted my review today, just in case it was the last day. I got my coupon and it's valid until February 28. I used the link above, it worked fine. You just confirm your kobo account via a link that they send you by email.

Try:

1) press the Alt key (this brings up the main menu)
2) In the main menu, click Tools->F12 developer tools

You might try going to Amazon to get a cross-section of reviews. I use it all the time to get opinions from other readers, regardless of whee I decide to buy my ebook.

I go to goodreads and look at 3 star reviews no matter where I buy.
If I'm on amazon, then I'll check out their 3 star reviews, but I prefer goodreads and usually check them anyway. (Even though it might as well be the same thing now...)

Kobo hasn't implemented them yet. It's more of a experiment. See Goodreads is own by Amazon which is what the Kobo site now uses so my guess is Kobo is having to start their own review site so they came up with the coupon idea to get a jump start.

Just a theory, it could be another Kobo's excuse to give out discount codes. When prices are set by publishers, they're not allowed to discount their ebook prices, but they can only through short-term promotions/coupons.

Not me, last time I bought around 400 books. Though 200 books using 95comic at least was mega affordable. On the other hand I haven't even made a dent in my reading list. Especially adding the new books I've bought since then and the ones I have to read for university. A downside to studying literature is that I end up buying books all semester long...

Hey, Mexico is actually part of Nort America (though unlike the rest of Nort America it also happens to be part of Latin America...).
