Free @ Amazon
Lady Star by Claudy Conn Formally published as Regency Star by Claudette Williams Regency Romance (Fawcett 1985) Note: This is book two, the sequel to Wildfire's Kiss which most of you should have as it was a previous freebie. I just gotta say her covers do not match the genre here! These were written as traditional regency and you would never know it! ![]() ![]() Last edited by Blossom; 02-06-2014 at 04:20 PM. |

So bummed about the Sony Store closing. Guess I will have to get the older Harlequins directly from the Harlequin site from now on since I doubt Kobo will take over the "clean" version from Sony

I am going to make a separate Calibre library I think with a custom column to add where purchased and store my original format books. I like the setup I have now (where I only keep the finished ePub in my main Calibre library with all the metadata corrected). I keep the original version and finished ePub in another folder (subfoldered by fave authors, a miscellaneous folder, and undecided folder for books by new to me authors I haven't read and so I'm not sure I will keep). I have lost access to my DRM'd LIT books the last time I reformatted as I couldn't activate the Microsoft Reader. With the new ADE coming, I just want to ensure I can access the original versions all of my books in the future. You never know when you may need to. |

Rights the novel can revert to the author, but the artwork can either remain with the publisher or revert to the artist. So, must republished works have new covers and a lot of authors update them to appeal to current readers (as they perceive them). And perhaps she wanted this type of cover originally, but the publisher picked something else (the author often has zero control over what is used).

Just out of curiosity where do you ladies go looking for bargain romances or the freebies? I know of Ellora's Cave and that is it. I have been getting most of mine from Amazon lately, (love the Kindle app). But I want different ebooks sites to check out.

Samhain has 30% off all new releases the first week. they also have 6-8 books a month for 30% off with a code and the sale + coupon code can be combined for extra savings. I usually shop All Romance eBooks when they have one of the 50% back sales. You buy the books at the list price, but get half back to spend on more books. Plus for every 10 eligible books you buy (the ones with the crown symbol) you get a book free. I would say most of shopping is at Kobo with coupon codes. I used to use Sony when they gave out coupon codes, too, but they are closing. I miss Fictionwise and the days of 100% micropay ![]() Last edited by library addict; 02-07-2014 at 04:09 AM. Kobo with coupons is great for getting good deals but stear clear of their Harlequins before July 2010 as they are just plain text kepubs. |

quick question: when you all say "backup calibre", it's just copy calibre\Book_library folder to an external HD, right? mine is over 14GB so I'm looking at incremental backup to save time. Funny i'm more concerned with calibre backup than win7. I'd like to hear what you savvy gals have in plan for backup. thanks
