Japanese AZW3 Files & Converting

I apologize about cluttering the forum with what is probably yet another request, but it seems that every method that I try fails and it is getting quite frustrating.

I have a bunch of Japanese novels I purchased. Basically, I just want a PDF version or a TXT version of them. I'm not concerned with formatting or whatever, I'm merely just trying to crack them so I have a text copy and can look up words quickly when translating. However, the problem I have is that the Kindle for PC reader will not allow me to sign in with my account or let me add any of the azw3 files that I have to the current account to view them. This is, primarily, because one isn't "supposed" to be purchasing them unless they live in the country. But, I'd rather not spend $30 for shipping and handling charges on a book when I can have an electronic copy for the same price.


I was initially forced to deregister and re-register my Kindle Fire with my Amazon Japan account. I can view them on the Kindle Fire all fine and dandy (and I can even download the azw3 file from AmazonJapan without incident as well). There's just nothing else I can do. Granted I can highlight each page, post it on their kindle stream and then just cut and paste from there, but doing this from thousands of pages is tedious and well... batshit crazy.

Whenever I attempt to convert them via the program, it keeps telling me they are all DRM locked. Granted, I added one of the plugins and I specifically added my Kindle serial number and what not to see if that would help. Nothing works. It keeps saying it cannot convert it because it is locked by DRM. Heck, one of the other programs I tried kept telling me it was the wrong serial when I copied it directly from Amazon AND my Kindle Fire.

If the book is not getting DeDRMed you will need to go to alf's website to get help. MobileRead has a policy not to give DeDRM instructions, guides, or help (although we can suggest "google apprentice alf").

As far as actually registering Kindle4PC, have you tried logging into your Japanese account using a proxy to pretend your computer is actually in Japan? http://www.google.com/#q=windows+http_proxy

The Kindle for PC (near as I have determined) is solely for English language only products and does not allow files from other stores to be read on Windows/Mac machines. Users in Japan have inquired about this and I don't think anyone has discovered a workaround. I'll keep digging on that end though.
