Well, apart from the bit about him thinking that publishers "benefit" from hardened DRM.
But yes. It would be great to have a Q&A opportunity, I agree!

If so, note that it refers to:

The devices support PDF and EPUB content, either unprotected or protected by Adobe® Content Server 4 software.
which means that it is a list for the older ADE DRM, not the new ADE 3.0.

It did used to be a bit obscure, but it's really easy now. Hover over the book cover in your Google Play 'My Books' library and a pop-up menu icon appears with three options. One of these is 'Download ePub'.

Is there a download limit? Google Music has a limit of three downloads, unless the customer uses special software provided by Google, but I never bought books there.

I can't see a limit mentioned in the help articles for Play Books.

For music, yes, there's a limit of three downloads for purchased tracks from the Cloud library, but note that you can 'pin' the tracks offline as many times as you want - so the download limit only applies to devices that can't run Google Play Music directly.

The 'special software' is simply Google's own uploader, which you'll need if you want to load your own music into Google Play (you can load up to 20,000) tracks, and doesn't take over your machine or anything. Using this there's no limit to the number of times you can download your music. It's available for Windows, Mac and Linux, but not yet for ChromeOS.

Tweedle Dum from goodereader was spreading an unfounded rumour which has since been shown to be untrue. (Yes, it's my own post I'm linking to...)

Frankly, the way Adobe are going I certainly wouldn't put it past them to try to pull that trick at some point. Still, not quite yet by the looks of things then

Oh yes they are I will *never* forgive them for their cloud subscription only model for Photoshop et al. It's business use for me but I'm sticking with CS6 for as long as it will cope with what I throw at it. They annoyed me so much with that...I have since then purchased my ebooks only from Amazon (small, and fairly pointless revenge but hey-ho )
And the recent little "ooops passwords" problem hasn't done much to improve my opinion of Adobe...

Whether they could still pull that, or would even try, in a much expanded market (with way more books in consumer hands) or not it's hard to say. I wouldn't think so, but Adobe can be pretty arrogant.
This will be the day when the Amazon bashing crowd finally learns about the difference between an open format and an open format heavily wrapped in DRM. And simultaneously the day when people forget that you shouldn’t open .exe files from sites that promise: „This app will want converted your files free on any device.“

Well, nothing new here but I'm worried for my Sony 650 and because, as a Linux user, I can only use ADE 1.7. The 2.x version is unstable so I don't even want to guess how 3.0 could run on my computer
