1) Your link goes to my quote, and not to EreaderIQ.

2)
Are these prices specifically in regard to the ebook - which is what was posted as a bargain?

(Are you saying that the ebook was priced, at one time, at $10.09? -- I find that hard to believe, but perhaps I'm wrong.)

3)
My contention - or a better word might be 'belief' - is that the price of this ebook is the normal price, and has always been $2.99

4)
My original post challenges the 'bargain' price of $2.99 for this ebook, which is what the original post was about: The price of an ebook for $2.99.

5) I will add in closing, that this thread is only for bargains, deals and freebies.

An erroneous belief. It is currently $10.49 at Barnes & Noble and $14.99 at Apple.

A $2.99 price is indeed a bargain price.

Thank you to the original poster for posting it.

Yes, demand has been absolutely incredible. We saw the first spike after Boing Boing picked up on the anthology, but after io9 and Tor.com covered it, the numbers threatened to overwhelm us! Along with our own servers and the Tor.com mirror, both StarShipSofa and Writertopia are helping to host.

Night Shade's books generally get discounted to around $7, with prices in the $10 range outside Amazon.

$3 is a discount price.

Why would you jump on this one and not others in the same price range? Are you just unfamiliar with the publisher?

After checking Paul's head's up from B&N about this book - Miserere: An Autumn Tale - I see that I was very wrong in doubting that this was a special-priced ebook. It is a special-priced ebook.

My apology to the original poster, itisbomb, who posted this legitimate bargain.

It looks like Amazon has price-matched Kobo's Miserere: An Autumn Tale, right here, $2.99:

http://www.amazon.com/Miserere-Autum...An+Autumn+Tale

And YES, that price IS a special price.
I checked this time!

And Baen, who originally carried the book, has it listed at $6.00. Sounds like a good price to me.

StoryBundle has launched a new bundle:

"The Sci-Fi Saturday Night Bundle, a collection of 7 titles that are carefully hand-picked by the hosts at Sci-Fi Saturday Night. The bundle features an eclectic range of titles chosen by folks who cover (and love) sci-fi, fantasy, video games, anime and more."

While billed as Sci-Fi, it looks to be heavily weighted toward horror.

$3-9.99 gets you:
  1. Bad Apple by Kristi Petersen Schoonover
  2. Angry Ghosts by F. Allen Farnham
  3. Illweed by Jay Mooers
  4. Demonic Visions - 50 Horror Tales by Chris Robertson

$10 or more gets you the above plus:
  1. Death Dreams Deluxe by Chris Robertson
  2. The Charters Duology by Matthew Wayne Selznick
  3. Hollow World by Michael J. Sullivan

Looks like it will run for 2 weeks.

I debated about posting these, but I think they qualify as they're not the same price everywhere. (There appears to be some price matching going on by OmniLit for a few titles, but not all, and everyone else is higher.)

Some of Terry Pratchett's Discworld novels have been lowered to $3.79 at Amazon, the ones I've found at this price:Best I can tell, most places have these at $5.99+. Previously they had been $5.69/$5.99 at Amazon since around December 2012.

Additionally, a few books have been lowered to $4.74:For these, most places have them for $7.99+. Previously Amazon's prices were running $6.83/$6.99, also dating back to around December 2012.

I have no idea if this is Amazon's new regular price or just a brief sale. All of these are excellent books, and quite funny. I can't recommend them highly enough, especially at these prices.

Below is the blurb:
Amy Peterson is a self-replicating humanoid robot known as a VonNeumann.

For the past five years, she has been grown slowly as part of a mixed organic/synthetic family. She knows very little about her android mother's past, so when her grandmother arrives and attacks her mother, Amy wastes no time: she eats her alive.

Now she carries her malfunctioning granny as a partition on her memory drive, and she's learning impossible things about her clade's history - like the fact that she alone can kill humans without failsafing...
