It's a very quirky read, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. When you read reviews, people aren't in the middle about the book... they seem to either love it or hate it!

The SBTB lady, Sarah, did a brief interview with the author on her podcast, if you're into that sort of thing.

Sarah would have been very bad for my wallet after listening to a convo with Sarah MacLean in which I had to go read six books written by Sarah MacLean and THEN listen to the podcast again. Oy. and again But. Overdrive to the Rescue!

I'd probably go with Virgin River, it's kind of a classic series at this point. OTOH, Simply Irresistible was my favorite Lucky Harbor book. I loved both the heroine and the hero in that one. So, maybe you should toss a coin.

What did you think of those two Maya Banks books? I heard they were a lot like 50 Shades of Shat so I have avoided them.

To Burn by Claudia Dain is .99 at Amazon and BN. This is an oldie from 2002 set during the end of the Roman occupation of Britain. I'm not sure I've read this one, but I like Claudia Dain and I love the setting.

Book one in a 6 book series The Romans had taken Britain and made it their own, but when the Roman Empire collapses on itself, the Roman legions leave the fringes of the Empire and draw back toward the center, to Rome. Leaving Britannia defenseless against the Saxon barbarians.

She was a Roman Briton and she embodied all that Rome stood for. He hated her on sight. She, proudly Roman, fought him with every breath. He burned his way into her life, destroying the world as she knew it, and she vowed to fight him to the death, either hers or his.

He was a Saxon warrior and stood for everything she loathed and feared. He was a beast, an animal...a barbarian. He destroyed her villa by fire and then stayed to torment her, finding joy in her despair, playing out his revenge upon her until he grew bored with his game and decided to kill her.

The hate they felt for each other burned with a fiery blaze, yet when he touched her, she trembled. They felt only hatred burning in their souls...or was it respect, admiration, and even love?

Hey Laura, I'm very fond of those older Susan Donovan's. Lucy is one of my favorites. I can also recommend Take a Chance on Me.

I just bought a book that won't convert to AZW3. Now you know I'm tech challenged and the most I've done with Calibre is epubsplit. The error it gives me in Calibre is 274 pages long. Is there an easy way to see what the problem is and fix it? I tried converting to epub [even though it already is an epub] and then to AZW3 but that didn't work either. I just want the easiest way to fix this, and obviously posting 274 pages of error isn't feasible... Oh, and I did try using epub split but that didn't work either, it broke the book down to like 2-3 sentences per page. Gah! Easy fix anyone?

Okay try this do a epub to epub conversion if it will let you if not I would click edit book and and look at the file contents and see if you see anything out of place. If you want to you can screenshot the contents and we can see if we see anything out of place seeing you are new to how ebooks work. IF it does let you do a epub to epub then take the new epub and convert it to azw3.

I tried it again just to make sure, but no, epub>epub>AZW3 didn't work. Also when it did epub>epub the file went from 0.5 mb to 2.2, not sure if that matters or not.

If I just did epub>mobi would that still work on KPW?

I do have a Calibre tool called 'Quality Check' but don't know how to use it. Could that tool help in this situation?
