Ken, I'm not sure that I understand you completely. There is "Several latest builds" link in the first topic. And the release notes are also there.

What is the "download"? Do you mean zip archive?

Right, the zip we download like "pbchess-1.2.6.32_kobo.zip". Then it would be there to look at before doing the update. Just an idea, if the addition of the txt file would cost too much bandwidth, it might not be a good idea. Since you already have it made I thought it would be easy to include it in the zip.

I experienced some issues with the new version. Users from the lesen.net forum confirmed them (Aura 6", Glo, Mini).

- After toggling the frontlight from the CR menu I tap at the screen and the whole application crashes and brings back the nickel home screen.

- Closing the sleep cover from within CR, opening it again and tapping into the screen also crashes CR and brings back the home screen.

- If CR goes to sleep because of the sleep timer and you wake up the reader with the hardware button, the next tap also crashes the application.

Thanks for the update. I am having one issue with this new version. It seems like it is not recognizing my fonts in the fonts dir. This was working fine in the prev version.

My other issue with CR on Kobo is the bold fonts. They always look very brutal, compared to Kobo`s own font rendering with the same font.

It still does recognize the fonts you side load. You can either create a folder fonts in the Root directory of the Kobo and put the fonts in there. You can also put the fonts into the folder .kobo/vlasovsoft/fonts. Make sure to reboot the device. After the reboot all fonts are available in CR.

I haven't noticed that for my fonts yet. But you can try to change the value for settings > style > Gamma.

Has links to descriptions of the process and mentions WinSCP and putty. PuTTY is more for those who speak Penguin. WinSCP provides an experience that most Windows users will be comfortable with.

What for? You just need:

1. Display the brightness control dialog
2. Set up your finger to the border (black/white)
3. Move your finget to any point of the progress bar IN ONE STEP.

Normally all you need do is to drag and drop the KoboRoot.tgz into your .kobo directory/folder. Safely eject and disconnect your USB cable, then you should see the updating messages on your kobo.
