The reviewer complains that you can't view two A5 pages next to each other in landscape mode. That sounds like a legitimate complaint if corporations are their target market.

Samsung looks to be introducing a 12" tablet. This makes the sony a tougher sell if priced too high.

Actually, I don't think it does. I doubt the Samsung tablet will be available in Japan, tablets are sold by the phone operators, the few that are sold separately are Sony and Nexus. We know the Sony isn't available outside Japan and I have yet to see a Samsung tablet in any Japanese electronics store.

The FCC ID on the rear case implies it will be available in the US.

Don't bet on it. The PRS-T3 has an FCC certification, but it's not sold in the US. I suspect that the certification is simply part of Sony's standard product release process, whereas the decision whether or not to actually sell a product in the US is a commercial one.

From the blog posts I see, it doesn't seem to be directly available to the general public in Japan? However, it looks like some people might be selling theirs second-hand on sites like Rakuten. So if anyone is interested, it might be possible to get one.

It must be nice being a corporation that is so large that it can develop a product, only to not sell it.

By the time this hits the market (if Sony has any real intention of it hitting the market) it will have to compete with large tablets. I do not see that ending well.

I am very disappointed. I have been waiting for years for such a device.

It is being sold - just not to the general public. That's hardly a unique situation; there are all sorts of products that are only sold to businesses.

True, but it is actually very Graphics oriented so even if you don't understand Japanese you should manage most of the commands available.

They have a winner in their hands and they do not release it to the general public. I simply do not understand it.
