I know there is no selection, but just open the sigil 0.7.4 installation, and replace the sigil.exe from 0.7.2 with the sigil.exe from 0.7.4 and it works with QT 5.02 so I only need the .dll files from QT 5.2 to know if it works.
The problems with sigil started with the distribution of QT 5.1 in the package.
If I understand correctly, Ducks is saying that the Windows install package contains Qt5 libraries ( I think 5.11, maybe) that DO work on XP and Win7. So maybe it's not Qt per se. If you have several Qt5 versions installed, perhaps you need to get rid of them. (E.g. it sounds like you may have Sigil 0.7.2 and 0.7.4 installed simultaneously. Anybody know if that could cause problems?)

I have not installed more versions of QT, If you install Sigil 0.7.2 and you press the about Sigil button you see that QT 5.0.2 is installed ( it is in the Sigil package. )
In 0.7.3 and 0.7.4 the QT is 5.1.0
If you take the Sigil package 0.7.4 and only extract 0.7.4 of Sigil.exe and copy it over sigil 0.7.2 then it says Version 0.7.4 QT installed 5.0.2 and it still works.
So a clean install of 0.7.2 works with QT 5.0.2
Completely de-install, also from the users AppData directory and install 0.7.4 clean, it installs QT 5.1.0 in the Program Files (x86)\Sigil directory and it stop working.

I got nothin'. I guess I'd better shut up now, and let someone who actually uses Sigil on the Windows platform take a shot at it.

It is better to always short cut the options people know, so I am glad that you take the time to look into it.

It may be the OS locale settings (Language...)

W7HP 64bit (AMD)
Toshiba Laptop both the touchpad AND external wired (Kensington) trackball

works perfectly (which is better than their operator does )

Ver 7.4
Loaded QT 5.1.0

I turned it around, the 0.7.2 exe of Sigil doesn't work with QT 5.1 so sigil 0.7.2 , 0.7.3 , 0.7.4 all work with QT 5.0.2 , none with 5.1.0 so the sigil.exe files are ok, the limitation is in the QT.
Just made a backup of my laptop, and did a clean install of windows 7 home premium (64 bits)
Only installing Sigil 0.7.4 on it with the QT that is in the installation package.
Nope.. doesn't work.
That also ruled out any other installed QT.
