Wow... thats pretty neat. I know my boss has some type of logitech pen that is similar... but it doesn't record anything other than what he writes. He used it for about a month taking notes at meetings... but stopped using it. I think he has said mainly because it was to honking big and uncomfortable to write with. I think he said the software that comes with it will OCR the stuff... can't remember.

Seemed cool, but my first thought was... dude, just take notes on your laptop.

Yeah .... I had a pen like that, by Adesso. It was ok, but having the ability to record sound makes all the difference in the world. I find I listen and participate more since I don't have to worry about my notes being perfectly complete. If I'm taking down a phone number ... I just record and my notes just consist of a P with a circle around it. I can always add the number later because the computer actually syncs in any changes I make in the notes ... so the computer and the notebook are always the same.

The pen is a little larger than the usual pen, but I haven't found it to be too large or uncomfortable to use. The thing is ... since they sell these at Target, it's really easy to go over there and try the thing out .... or get it from Amazon and use their 30 day return policy.

Everyone who tried mine out at the Bar Convention went home swearing they were going to get one. The 2G version is only $200 .... and the replacement notebooks are only $5. As far as I'm concerned, tech doesn't get much better than this.

Are Hanlins available world wide?

Did you know, that people all over the world are buying Kindles, anyway they can, even tho they must be very inventive to get books downloaded and can't use the Wispernet feature. There is a thread on this site, and many on the amazons discussion page to prove this.

That alone tells me Amazon has a hot product. And I care.

Yeah, I knew that, I was trying to make a point, tho not successfully.

Even tho Hanlins are available worldwide, people are choosing the Kindle over it despite the difficulty in downloading books.

This was in reference to the smarmy ' who cares' disbelief shown by the poster........

Ah ok thanks. Guess my addled brain lost the thread. The Kindle is a great reader even for those outside the US as long as you are willing to find DRM free ebooks or willing do a bit of liberating.

OK ... understanding that English is your second language, I still can't make much sense out of your post. Except for the "who cares" part ... and in answer to that, plain and simple, I care. And I don't really give a damn that you don't.

I think that he is saying that it is a self-fulfilling prophecy type of thing, which makes it unimportant. To each his own.

If you say so, Bob. I must have read that post a half a dozen times, and I don't get that out of it.

"Whichever piece of share or company "boosted" by them to be EXCEL" .... is that the part?? Beats me. However, self-fulfilling prophesy or not, I'm still quite glad to see both the Kindle and the Livescribe there. So, again, I care ... if that answers the question posted.

Let's just say that I hope the poster is happy with his or her Hanlin. And, that maybe they have more to contribute to MR than just Kindle bashing for no particular reason.
