K4 Mac or PC Stuck Kindle Books

I have kindle for pc which has always worked well
However I just downloaded 3 or 4 free amazon books to my android tablet then realised 2 of them I really didn't want
So I went to manage my kindle on my tablet and deleted them
However later going to Kindle for PC I now find these 2 deleted books are trying to download and freezing my kindle for pc then it shuts down
Help

You might be able to delete them from your Amazon account through the Amazon web site.

If Paul's suggestion doesn't work, get in touch with Kindle Customer Service; they'll be able to cancel the pending downloads for you.

Sorry should have said I did that ( before I opened kindle for pc)

Have you tried:

1. close k4pc
2. go to the directory where the k4pc db is, mine is at \users\name\app data\local\amazon\kindle\cache\db\.
3. delete any files that have -numbers. You should only have sockeye.dat and steelhead.dat files in that directory.
4. re-open k4pc.

If the app is still stuck with the books, de-register and then re-register the app. All should be well at this point, at least it is for me. If this does not work, then you will have to contact CS.

How do I find the App Data?

It's a hidden folder. Go to "Folder Options" in Windows Control Panel and tell it to show hidden/system files.

Should there have been more files in that folder then?

Now have de registered and re registered

Seems to have worked!
Tried a test to download a new book It kept saying no but eventually worked

I seem to have a different kindle icon now though

I have Windows 7

What do you mean changed? Are you on Win8? Are you using the Win8 version?
