Just to rock the boat I voted for Apple as I use my iPad Mini Retina and iPhone 5 for all my reading, though 95% of my reading is using the kindle app. ETA: I disagree with tubemonkey. I consider any device I feel comfortable reading on to be an eReader. I don't even have an eInk anymore as I don't like reading on them now that tablets have so much better resolution and pixel density. Last edited by jswinden; 12-29-2013 at 05:07 PM. |

For the record......

Also, tablets can be used as eReaders. I did not specify only eInk eReaders. Let's see if more Apple eReader owners vote now. So far they are at the bottom with Kobo a surprise winner. Last edited by sirmaru; 12-29-2013 at 05:56 PM. |

My current favorite is mentioned at the left of this post. The event that will make that obsolete is the death of Whispernet. Hopefully that's far off. However, I did not vote due to lack of experience with current models of any brand. |

My favorite was the Sony 350. If it had a built in light it would have been perfect.

I used to read Microsoft eBooks on my old Cathode Ray Monitor from 1990 to 2000. There were no eReaders back then.

I use my kindle the most because of convenience. However I love reading on my Aura HD best. The screen is better. And my Sony T3 is so small and light that it's the best choice for carrying around.
So I can't vote for just one. |

I voted for Kindle.
The only other dedicated e-reader I have used is the nook (B&N), which surprisingly is not on this poll. Of course, it is the oldest model nook and I have the most recent model of e-ink Kindle. But the Kindle is better than the 1st gen nook by far. Even the Kindle 4NT was. |

Sorry about that.

I'm still surprised why more folks haven't voted for Apple. |

Kindle. I'd choose my kobo or a sony reader over any of my Apple or android devices for reading though.

Why are you surprised? Not many Apple users come to this poll. Also, not many Sony, Kobo, or Nook users unless all of these users also have a Kindle. For a more broad perspective, the poll should have been in the General section.

I read on my iPhone sometimes, but it isn't ideally suited for the purpose. On the other hand, it fits in my pocket and sometimes that's all I have. Overall I prefer a dedicated e-reader, and I don't think Apple produces any of those.

How about an other catagory? I have had two Aluratek Libra Pros and a Pandigital Novel before buing my first kindle. I like my current paper white much better than either of the Libra Pros of the Pandigital.
My two aluratek's broke, one was shoved into a jacket pocket and sustained a broken screen. The other started speaking some sort of foreign languege after a few months of use. Neve rquite figured out what languege that was. The Pandigital was stolen. |
