I used my one 65% off Kobo contest coupon for a higher price Patricia Rice book, and then two 50% off codes for two of the $1.99 PR Sourcebook sale books. I'm a happy camper today!

I'll be even happier when the last book in the series comes out in February and I can actually read them! lol

Stealing the Preacher by Karen Witemeye

Kindle Price: $0.00
Publisher: Bethany House Publishers; 1 edition (June 1, 2013)
Print Length: 353 pages
4.7 (255 reviews)

Quote:
Inspirational Historical Romance's Rising Star

On his way to interview for a position at a church in the Piney Woods of Texas, Crockett Archer can scarcely believe it when he's forced off the train by a retired outlaw and presented to the man's daughter as the minister she requested for her birthday. Worried this unfortunate detour will ruin his chances of finally serving a congregation of his own, Crockett is determined to escape. But when he finally gets away, he's haunted by the memory of the young woman he left behind--a woman whose dreams now hinge on him.

For months, Joanna Robbins prayed for a preacher. A man to breathe life back into the abandoned church at the heart of her community. A man to assist her in fulfilling a promise to her dying mother. A man to help her discover answers to the questions that have been on her heart for so long. But just when it seems God has answered her prayers, it turns out the parson is there against his will and has dreams of his own calling him elsewhere. Is there any way she can convince Crockett to stay in her little backwoods community? And does the attraction between them have any chance of blossoming when Joanna's outlaw father is dead set against his daughter courting a preacher?

Nice to see you and KyBunnies posting today, hope you're both feeling better!

OT but hopefully someone can answer... Is it normal on the KPW to not be able to change the font? I know this was the case with some books on my T1, but not all. I'm on 3rd book [read 2 novellas] and still can't change the font. is it because I converted all to AZW3 w/o changing any preferences or anything?

It's not a big deal, just prefer a 'sans' type of font rather than basic 'Times'.

Picture Perfect (Weddings by Design Book #1)
Janice Thompson

Feisty wedding photographer Hannah McDermott has dealt with her share of difficult brides. But none can compare to the ultimate Bridezilla she's dealing with now. Still, she's trying desperately to impress Bella Neeley, Galveston Island's most sought-after wedding planner, so she can take the top spot in Bella's list of recommended photographers--a spot currently occupied by her arch-rival, Drew Kincaid. What she doesn't count on, however, is falling head over heels for the competition.

With her contagious humor and cast of quirky characters, Janice Thompson gives readers more of the bridal business drama they want in a brand-new series all about those long-suffering people who make beautiful weddings happen. Readers are desperately waiting for more of Bella and this new series brings her back in a big way, while introducing new characters fans will love. Fans will laugh out loud as they experience this breezy and entertaining novel from a great storyteller.

Blu, I have not had this issue and every book on my KPW is a conversion - either epub to AZW3 or AZW3 (or mobi) to AZW3. I can change my font and it affects all books on the kindle. In fact, after my issues this week where at one point I did a factory restore, when it came back up, I was shocked to see a different font - once I had changed it before I never had to think about it again and basically forgot that what I had wasn't the norm.

I'm not sure how you are trying to do it, but in an open book, tap the top of the screen to bring up the icons and there should be the Aa icon under the home icon. When you tap on that, it will bring up a box where you can change the size or the font. I'm like you, I prefer 'sans' and use the helvetica option.

A caveat - I do nothing in calibre to affect font, so if you have some settings set up there, I wonder if that blocks making changes from the PW...

I feel like crud. Fever is finally responding to medicine. I'm finally able to sleep as when my temp is up I can't sleep at all. Still on clear liquids. It feels like my throat is swollen shut.

Blu when converting your books in Calibre conversation window under look and feel tab you will see see a bunch of check boxes make sure to check the box fonts and this will fix that problem. It will remove all font family references from the style sheet. You can then change the font on your Kindle.

Oh, I hope you got it working again? I absolutely love mine so far and am so pleasantly surprised at how easy it all was!

Yep, did that exactly on each book I've opened, it doesn't change font to anything, tried them all.

Unless I accidentally changed something [which I doubt because I really don't know what I'm doing in there, LOL]. I have no idea how I'd check to see if I did?! [see, I AM tech-challenged]

Oh you poor thing but I'm glad the fever is down, that's a start. Hopefully after some rest [even if it's not sleep, take it easy] it will all start to go away. *hugs & healing vibes to you*

Ok I'll try that. if I do that to my whole library will it apply next time I sync it? Or will I have to delete my whole library, reconvert, and sync from fresh?

Just opened up Calibre, so I check the box 'embed referenced fonts'?
and check 'subset all embedded fonts'? check them both?

You will have to reconvert the books that won't let you change the font. This is why I never delete my source book I'm always having to reconvert some book.

No just the box called fonts under Look And Feel only on that tab.

No. You want to go to Look and Feel and there where the extra CSS box is another small tab on that tab is remove options. You want to check the box named fonts.
