I don't know if there already exist an English one apart from the issues list on Github.

I am planning to buy KPW2 soon and I love their "smart lookup" feature: you touch the word in a pdf and can see a wikipedia or dictionary within seconds. Does Koreader supports this?

A dictionary - yes. For PDF and Djvu currently. Wikipedia - no. We don't have means to start the browser (yet). Or alternatively our own browser.

Hi. I am using the latest nightly for pw2 5.4.2. It seems that when I am in the 'file manager', the only way i can make the top bar show (to exit via the home icon) is tapping around an inch from the top, anything above that does not reveal the top bar, instead just browses around file structures. Hopefully that helps someone out there.


Update: Its not happening any more = file manager is working OK.
Disclaimer- I still had the factory plastic on in case the jailbreak didn't work and I return it to the store. Perhaps that messed with the touch of the app.

Hi everyone!

Kindle Paperwhite 2 with special offers.

In stock reader when I turn on the kindle, special offer is shown and I need to swipe to unlock device.
When I turn on the device when KoReader is ran, it unlocks device automatically, but only 20% of a screen is updated, the rest 80% still shows the previous screen with the special offers, so I need to make some action like page change or to call a menu to update screen fully.

Is it possible to fix that somehow?

My advice - get rid of the special offers - call Amazon and pay them. I think it is well worth it.

Not just English works. And when trying to get Ancient Greek working, I did get a lot of support!

If your epub-files are properly encoded in UTF-8 you will have no problem with other languages.
It supports as all languages of which you have installed dictionaries.

If you use pdf's you could also install Tesseract OCR traineddata files. It's dependent on the quality of those files, whether you can lookup words for non-OCR-ed scans.

Place the traineddata-files in koreader/data/tessdata.

I tried getting support for Ancient Greek in koreader, but in the end had to settle for traineddata files for modern Greek. The ones for Ancient Greek generate a memory error.
Still, with the Stardict dictionary made for Ancient Greek and a properly formatted epub, you should be able to lookup word even for Ancient Greek.

I can't slide submenus from top main menu anyhow - thus i'm unable to choose Polish hyphenation manually (only alghorithm works). It can still be done by deleting unused files from /koreader/data/hyph directory so its not an important bug.
