I didn't mind giving myself the shots, I just didn't like the side effects. My husband offered... and I said no way.

Ugh, I know blood clots, Lovenox and Coumadin are no fun having been through that myself. It sounds like it's been a more serious on-going thing with you, though. Please be super careful and pamper yourself! I'm so sorry you're dealing with this, especially through the holidays.

Luckily since my job is work from home I can still work from bed. Just lots of rest in between.

Ugh that sounds horrible! I hate giving myself shots too which is why Hubby gives me my B12 shot each month. So relieved that you are not alone. *hugs*

I am having fits with my Kindle PW... calibre does not want to play nicely with it. I spent a large portion of today trying to figure it out by searching the MR Forums and trying out the suggested fixes. I finally gave in and submitted a question on the calibre devices forum and Kovid came back and said my drive is probably failing.

He says I should contact amazon and get it replaced - but i'm not sure what I'd tell them. I don't know WHY the drive is failing and when i tell them i load through calibre, they may very well tell me they won't do anything for me.

It's so frustrating! I was thinking about getting a Fire after the first of the year... now it seems the decision is made for me. In the meantime, can anyone tell me how I can read my calibre books on my iphone? I have the Kindle app but of course that is only books from amazon that haven't been through calibre and is also only a portion of all of my books.... Big sigh...

I just realized I hadn't submitted my confession for the week! This problem with my PW started last night and I plain forgot!

A better week of reading but still not as many as I would have liked! Still too many purchased books but... well, the codes...the codes...the codes!!!

May not be much help but have you tried using the 'Send to Kindle app' - http://www.amazon.com/gp/sendtokindle They have it for browser and desktop. I use it for my niece. If that does not work you can tell them that something must be wrong with the drive.

Thanks everyone for the thoughts and prayers. This is not my first round with blood clots, but the first time they have actually moved. Hopefully they will dissolve quickly and I can get back to normal. I have a double DNA gene that makes my blood clot abnormally fast and will clot when I get a bruise.

I downloaded a couple of books from the cloud (over wifi) and they arrived on the kindle and seemed okay. But I'll try this and see if they make it. Thanks!

I'm pretty sure you can sideload books on iOS Kindle app just like your can on the Android. You can ask in the Kindle Forum and someone there who uses it will help you. Sorry about your PW.

You can always send them by email to your Kindle App just like you can with a normal Kindle.

Thanks Blossom! I've eyed the Karma Girl series many times since I'm a big fan of Jennifer's other two series (Elemental Assassin and Mythos Academy) but I've never bought it. Looks like today is the day.

The iPhone makes this is easy-peasy (don't know about Android phones since I've never used one)

You can open any .mobi file in the Kindle app. Just email the file to yourself, go to your email on the phone, click on the book file in the email, and it will ask you what app you want to open it with (the Kindle app should be one of the choices). Choose the app, and the book will then load and open in the Kindle app and it will then be listed in your Kindle home page so you can open it directly in the app the next time.

This also works with ePubs. Follow the same steps as above but when you click on the book file, it should ask you whether you want to open it in iBooks or any other reader you have that will read ePub.
