Ultimately I ended up logging out of my Kobo account on my Aura HD, so I had to reconfigure my .conf file to add the full book page count feature. Maybe it's the kepub itself causing the freezing issue (ePub --> kepub using the Kobo Extended plugin) as its still occurring after the rebuild/.conf file reconstruct/power off/power on process....

Why does the [FeatureSettings] FullBookPageNumbers=True return to FullBookPageNumbers=False every time I load new books onto the device |

i *think* that is a feature of the Kobo Plug Extended driver. Check the bottom most option "Use full book page numbers" in the options for that drvier. Check the box IF you want the FullBookPageNumber option set to True. |

thanks Peter, but after much searching I cannot find "the Kobo Plug Extended driver" location. All i am doing is going into Kobo eReader.config and changing the value to "true" saving it, and doing the same thing each time I load a book, at three or four a week it is a bit tiresome. There must be a better way! |

Onemack: If what PeterT thinks is happening, you are already using the extend driver. This is usually used to send books as kepubs instead of epubs to the device. If that isn't what you want, then then open the preferences, go to the plugin section and find the KoboTouchExtended driver. Select it and uninstall it. If you do want to use kepubs, then you need to change the configuration of the extended driver. You can do that from the plugin list above. Or, when the device is connected, right-click on the device icon in calibre and select "Configure this device". Then select the "Use full book page numbers" option and press the OK button to save the change. The extended driver makes sure the config file has the appropriate setting based on whether this option is selected or not. If you are not using the extended driver, then something else is going on. |

Nevertheless, I didn't just say that sentence BUT I also gave you with the instructions for getting TouchExtended driver. So I don't consider it an unhelpful post. Possibly there was no hidden intention on your part, and possibly it was completely true, but saying that "after much searching I cannot find it", when its downloading zones are fully obvious, seemed a bit strange. More over, as davidfor said, because of your posted symptoms, it really seemed you were already using it... But I apologize in any case, because being impolite wasn't my intention in any way.
