I think the "deal" part comes in mostly with the lifetime tech support that's included.

Yeah I wondered what that is. Usually you can call Kindle Support with any Kindle and get help. It doesn't include a warranty though as if you go to the page it's extra so what so special about the lifetime tech support? I though all Kindles get that.

I just left a Target. I was hoping to use the extra 10% off they were offering this weekend for a tablet, but they didn't have what I was looking for. Everything was pretty picked over.

The store was packed and on my way out I noticed that many people were still using plastic.

I dunno--I'm not familiar with what the normal support is with Kindles. But it's supposed to be an impressive selling point!

I agree. I paid $100 each for two of those on BF from Best Buy. Charging an additional $100 for a case and charger is over the top if you ask me. But then, it's QVC and something to be expected. As to the so-call lifetime tech support, Amazon already provides it, so there's no need for third party intervention. Additionally, charging $10+ for shipping and handling is ridiculous. It should be free.

I'd steer clear of this so-called deal. QVC is overcharging for this discontinued model.

If someone is going to spend $210 on an easy pay plan over 6 months for last year's Fire HD, then why not spend $229 on an easy pay plan over 9 months for this year's greatly improved Fire HDX?

My overall impression of QVC is that they're out to fleece their customers!

All Kindles get it. QVC relies on an uninformed customer base to peddle their overpriced wares.

I agree.

I think it was the discount made a difference for them too. I heard an associate say only games were left, no systems. And the electronics counter line was packed with people purchasing televisions.

A $30 discount isn't bad. The best discount so far has been $50 off. Also, this offer can't be combined with the 4-payment offer.

Today's (12/22/13) Target ad has the Nook Simple Touch for $39. If you get the 10% atonement discount (today's the last day) and use your Target red card for 5% off that gets it down to......ummm

Thanks; I was unaware of the 10% off bit. Maybe I'll visit Target today. $35 for an ePub ereader ain't bad. Not really sure I'd get it though.

Do be careful. Several Facebook people are reporting that the 17th and 18th was when they shopped and now they have no money. So I can't trust if it's really fixed Target said the cut off date was the 15th.

Thanks - I haven't shopped at Target in ages. Walmart's closer, so I go there instead.
