				uBookLite coming soon for PalmOS

The makers of the very popular µBook reader for PalmOS Pocket PC and Windows will be releasing a new e-book reader very soon called µBookLite. From the GowerPoint web page, we get the following description..."µBookLite for Palm OS (3.5+) and Smartphone. It is a simple and lean, yet powerful ebook reader that can read PDB and PRC (not secure) ebook (HTML, TXT and PML). It supports BMP, GIF, PNG and JPG images and offers many customization options including: Hyphenating, Portrait and Landscape display, Choice of font type, color and size, etc.... It Also has a resizable/skinnable User Interface. µBookLite will be improved on a regular basis." Thanks to volwrath for the news submission. Note: Correction above based on frquixote's input. The original error was mine, not the submitter's. Thks! |

Just one small, but very important, correction ... the current uBook Reader is for Windows and PocketPC only. The new uBookLite is the long-awaited entry of this reader into our Palm world.

I never thought they would do it, but it seems that Gowerpoint has heard the cries of the masses... and that is great, because imo nothing in the Palm world can touch uBook. Now if it can only look through zips.

Well, according to the website, it's PALMOS based and not Windows Mobile. Second, is that I think that the only major difference between lite and normal versions is that Normal can read ZIP files. I can't see anything else on a quick read through it.
