Ooh I'll bet that's a nightmare for figuring out the rights. Fern Michaels started out as two authors, Mary Kuczkir and Roberta Anderson. Most articles you'll see today list only Mary Kuczkir as the author. That's because the partnership split up, and Mary Kuczkir got the rights to the Fern Michaels name in 1989. So I wonder if the books before 1989 (such as the Captive books) are still tied up in rights limbo, or if they going to be are available?

I remember reading something weird about the Fern Michaels/Robert Anderson case years ago, maybe in an early Romantic Times. But I can't find anything more recent about it. Sigh. Anyone remember more information?

It's the same for me - it used to work with IE only, and now suddenly I can't even sign in.

Funnily enough, when I found myself unable to use the Harlequin shopping basked in Firefox, the customer service proposed I use Chrome. So it's very interesting to hear you have similar problems with Chrome!

I quite liked the old site. A bit clumsy, but you got where you wanted to be. The new site is an utter mess. You'd imagine a company like Harlequin would be able to pay for an actually functioning website!

Unless it's an author i adore, 2.99 is about my ceiling. If it's a series I have pieces of and want to finish because I'm anxious to read it but it's not necessarily an author I'd normally go higher for, I'd probably go up to $5... maybe.

I refuse to pay more than .99 for any novella less than 100 pages. No more than 1.99 for 150-ish. If it's less than 50 - i won't buy it for anything. That said, if it's part of a series and somewhat integral to the overall series, I'd consider my overall spend for the series and probably get it if I felt I'd gotten enough deals overall that the total spend was a deal in itself (that was sort of a rambly sentence - I hope it made sense). I'd still have trouble though if it was 2.99 for under a 100 pages. (So many exceptions to the rules we place on ourselves when we really WANT something, eh? )

Anyway - Blossom (everyone really), I appreciate all of the deals you post, free or otherwise. I think I treat backlist titles the same as I would anything else - if it's an author I love, I'd pay more. If not one I know (new to me), I'd hesitate going over 2.99 until I knew better if I liked the writing.

As for ebook/print - I buy virtually nothing in print anymore. Some series that I want to have the collection in print. So even if the book could be cheaper in print via amazon or Half Price Books, i don't go that route - I don't have the room nor desire to read in print anymore and am trying to replace (or at least acquire) my favorite prints in digital.

I've been waiting for both of these to drop and I'm SO excited to get them!
Both $.99, Ritchie book is book 2 of Addicted Series which I gave books 1 and 1.5 both 5 stars! [looks like all 3 are on for $.99 and I HIGHLY recommend them!]

I just read one of hers called The Geek Job. The hero was an adorable and geeky scientist. I really liked it - I definitely have a weakness for geeky heroes and often end up breaking my purchase rules for them.
