That's a good addition (updated the posts), and not a bad workaround for the Fire. I'd still like to have better options on the Fire when I actually have the collection open, however. All you can do is remove the book from the collection there.

I think sending feedback through the Help app on the KF will help get those features implemented.

Blossom: Refresh my memory which Fire do you have? I vaguely remember reading you returned your HDX so which one do you have that has the collections feature? I have to say even the way collections are implemented now, I would not mind having them on my HD 2012, I would like to be able to keep more than 20 books on it but as it is now I do not because I do not like the lack of organization on it.

I only buy a new eBook if one of us wants to read it.

Remember, each of us here speaks only for OURSELVES. Criticism of others does not enhance the spread of knowledge here.

You may have problems with the Amazon firmware but don't project those problems to others. For me Amazon hardware, firmware and software fits ME to a "T." Of course, I work AROUND bugs instead of venting about them here.

If you have a SPECIFIC problem using a Kindle, post it without anger. Someone here may just have a solution for you.
Simaru: I can respect your opinion and accept that this is from your point of view, perhaps you should take your own advice. I've read your posts in the last month or so and most come off as condescending and dismissive if others happen to offer their opinion on how they are affected by Amazon's implementation of features on their devices. As you stated, we all use our devices as we see fit, whether that coincides with how Amazon envisions the features should be used or not.

Perhaps we all should put our anger, disdain and frustration aside and collaborate as these forums were meant to be.

I am really only interested in the TWO eBooks I am currently reading and almost never look at eBooks I've read in the past other than the Bible.

I am not sure where you are going with this, what do you mean how collections work with Calibre? What does Calibre have to do with collections? Calibre is just a program that puts books on the device, it has no direct interaction with it in relation to collections or anything else.

Technically not true -- there is a plugin that can handle that, and a modified version that works on more recent Kindles IF they are jailbroken. Still, the PW2 is still a big mystery to the dev corner (because ixtab still hasn't gotten his PW2 to hack) and therefore for every device which is relevant to the Cloud Collections, that is very true.

Both the HDX and HD 2013 have collections. I own a Kindle Fire HD 2013 tablet which I love. I mainly use mine for music though. I read mostly on my Nexus 7.2. The Kindle for Android app also has collections now.

Amazon's implementation of collections was the main reason I left my PW1 for a Kobo Aura. I require my collection data to automatically transfer when my books are loaded via Calibre. I really don't understand why Amazon blocked this in newer devices, there is no threat to them if people wish to organise their library more efficiently. The other annoyance was my collections appearing as docs/books in my library, to me they should only be seen when in collection view.

Oh you are talking about the kindle collections plugin, right? I forgot about that, since I've not been able to use it on my pws. I didn't want to jb mine.

Thanks, I was thinking about the HD 2013 since I've been talked out of the HDX, but I am not going down to a 16 gb from a 32 gb. I would like collections on my Fire though, but not that badly.

That's a good price, I am ALMOST tempted, but I keep a lot of audibles on my Fire so I need to keep my space.

LOL, now that would never do, I do not maintain all my audibles on my device, no room for them, and I buy a lot of wsv matching books. Does that only happen on the new Fires, it doesn't happen on my 2012 HD. Is mine considered a first generation HD, I forgot when the HDs came out?
