I didn't consider it time wasted
![]() Almost finished Audition, and am now contemplating either the new Bond by William Boyd, Solo, or the new Robert Goddard, The Ways of the World ![]() |

![]() Unfortunately, there's no point trying to post it here since fixed width fonts still don't allow building columns and there's no table capability. Constellation II has everything that wasn't in Constellation I, plus the following stories that weren't in either Unibus: Daughter of Dragons, Dragon Tide, Shadow Partner, Persistence, Misfits, Hidden Resources, Moon on the Hills, Skyblaze |

![]() In addition to those stories above that you rightly say are missing from either Unibus volume, I didn't find Sweet Waters. I'll have to decide whether it's worth the purchase of Constellation II. Cheaper than buying the stories separately, I suppose. I'll send you a fresh cinnamon roll as soon as they come out of the oven! Jim |

I've been watching 'Call the Midwife' on BBC, and have started reading the books themselves - The Midwife: A Memoir of Birth, Joy, and Hard Times

I finally started A Feast for Crows by George R.R. Martin (#4 A Song of Ice and Fire). I'm only 150 pages in but liking it, after all the bad reviews I had prepared for having to force myself to read it. I'm not going fast (150 pages in 2.5 days) but that has more to do with it being the week before Christmas and I'm so busy working extra and being too tired to read as long at night as I usually would.

I've started to read The Bully Pulpit: Theodore Roosevelt, William Howard Taft, and the Golden Age of Journalism, the new book from Doris Kearns Goodwin (Team of Rivals). The first bit was a tad slow, as it covered familiar ground of the young life of TR and Taft, but it picked up as it started to detail how their paths began to cross. There is a parallel story of McClure's Magazine, the development of muckraking journalism, and TR's relationship with the press, which would probably make a book in itself. I think it is a bully story.

I finished up _The Book Thief_ ... it was ok... a bit sad and depressing.. 3 of 5 stars for me.
I started _One Was a Soldier: A Clare Fergusson/Russ Van Alstyne Mystery_ by Julia Spencer-Fleming. I really enjoy this series. It is light Mystery / Crime series that is set in a small town and centers around the Police chief and an Episcopal priest. She always seems to get caught up in the mystery and can't keep out of things. I'm sure I will enjoy it. BOb |

Just finished God Save the Child by Robert B Parker. Read it based on recos in this thread and it was very good. Great news is I have all the rest of Parker's books in front of me.
And just starting The Dinosaur Feather by S. J. Gazan. The Wall Street Journal rated it as one of the top ten mysteries of 2013. |
