I can't find it though I've looked and looked.

I have a lot of books in my archive, a lot more than the 100 megs shows. I do only have 18 books on the device though.

On my phone the total size is around 200 megs and the new update made me log in on both devices.

Mine is taking up 107 mb. I have a few books on it and a ton in the cloud. Hopefully Amazon gets it sorted for you, that's crazy.

You have several options:

1. Live with the app the way it is and wait for Amazon's next release.
2. Uninstall the app and install a different app to read eBooks.
3. Return the Nexus and exchange it for another Nexus with more memory.
4. Return the Nexus for a refund and just use your Kindle Fire HD 2013 to read eBooks. You stated you have found no problems with that device.

Don't count on Amazon's next release to fix this problem. It could be months until this specific problem is addressed.

Amazon may be focusing all their resources on their rumored Spring release of a new Kindle which may be far different than the PW, HD or HDX.

As I said above, I've googled this problem and your case seems unique. Others have had different problems with this app, NOT yours exactly. It is possible that others with a similar problem to yours are just ignoring it and using the app just fine. Maybe they have more memory installed and it is not a significant factor to them.

One thing you could do is post it directly on the Android-Nexus 7 2013 Forum and see if anyone there can help. They even may have users there with better knowledge of how to correct this problem. It may even have a solution by changing a setting of which you have no knowledge.

One question, does that Kindle Android reading app have its own Mayday feature perhaps just to use text to contact an Amazon specialist?

No, I have not. I really haven't used the app at all really. I put on a few books just to look at it but that was it.

FWIW, I'm at 131mb after a manual sync. 32 books on device, 1500 in cloud.

That proves my point that Blossom's problem is unique to her specific device. Otherwise, everyone with a Nexus 7 2013 using the Kindle reading app would have exactly the SAME problem.

Maybe there is a setting in the app or in the device which is simply set wrong on her unit.

Blossom, you seem to be the only one of us with no books/docs loaded. Maybe that is somehow confusing the app. Why don't you try loading one book and clearing the data to see what happens.

That sounds like the answer. The app may be carving out its maximum data needs in the memory in the absence of any eBooks or documents on the disk. One eBook loaded may force it to contract to the actual needed space.

I think I would pull it up in app info / force stop / clear data and cache and re-login and hope that fixes it.

And maybe check out data size before you log back in.

After I upgraded to the new version I had to login, but when I did all the books were still on my device from the previous version.

That's what I'm trying. I haven't yet tried it with the new version. I cleared the data and staying away from the sync button.

Well don't push that button it seems to be the culprit it's like a download all button. Problem is you don't have access to whatever it downloads.
