Yes this is late but I've been very busy! Last week I spent the week getting the apartment ready for Christmas. It's all done and even hubby got into the spirit of things and helped by making some new wall decorations. Sometimes living with a temperamental artist has it rewards. Except for my crappy furniture this place looks amazing!

Now why I am late is because all yesterday I was hunting down a tree topper that was either battery operated or didn't need lights. I finally found something at Target in the next town. I also picked up the cats Christmas gifts. So bring on Christmas I am ready!

I bought only 6 books last week!
I am reading Marisa Carroll's The Man Who Saved Christmas. It's a Harlequin Treasury Super Romance and so far very good!

Oh and I got the best Christmas present my neighbors are moving!!!! They bought a house.

Thanks! It's going to be a great Christmas! It makes all the scratches and scrapes on my arms worth it. It seems a fake tree is like a porcupine. I never had a real tree beat me up but these fakes one branches are sharp but I won because the tree looks marvelous!

I just figured out (from reading a post somewhere here) that I could drag & drop books into my calibre. I thought I had to go to the little red book at the top. All I can say is I am behind on work because I am trying to get all my books in Calibre with DRM gone

It's this cheap Gold one here. It's was the best I could find as everything was picked over or broke. I own several gorgeous tree toppers but they need to be plugged in and this tree doesn't have a place for that!

Congrats on getting the tree into shape.

I sprung for one of the Martha Stewart ones with lights a few years ago and love how easy it is to set up compared to the 6 foot one we had when I was a kid. It's smaller and goes on the round table in my living room so I don't have to worry about the dog trying to knock ornaments off.

I have 14 years worth of ornaments this is the first year I had a tree big enough to use all of them. Last year's tree was 6 foot this one is 7 foot! It's also prelit just doesn't have a place to plug in the topper. The cats love it! They lay on the sofa and stare at it and if it's not lit they get upset and if I am sleeping they come upstairs and rattle the door wanting me to turn it on.

However, I got a message saying my card was expired. I thought maybe Harlequin is like B&N in that you have to list a credit card, but when I tried that I got another error message "Unfortunately, your online payment could not be processed at this time. Please contact your credit card company to resolve the issue." Bank said there are no holds on my card. So I emailed customer service at Harlequin. Hopefully others will have better luck.

My cats used to all think the tree was their personal holiday playground. I couldn't hang any ornaments on the lower branches. They liked the lights too.

Sadly, they have all crossed over the rainbow bridge now.

I understand Library Addict. I cannot put up a large tree. The bunnies try and eat it. I put a small one on a table but that is it. Anything larger and the bunnies eat the lights, ornaments, the tree and the cats try to lay in the limbs. Does not matter if it is real or fake.

When we had a bunny that had free run of the house we got a little metal fence and put that around the tree. Real attractive, especially since it was purple! After my TV, VCR and PlayStation wires were all chewed threw I figured better safe than sorry with the tree lights!

I have one bun that will jump up on my counters if she smells food. does not matter how high a gate I put in the door way. She will pull pillows over to the gate to get over.

Safer to have a small tree on the table for me.

Best thing I have found for wires is pvc pipe. I cut the outlet off, run the cord thru & install a new outlet. Anything else and they eat it.

Wow! I never imagined they could jump that high! Or be that devious.

treadlightly she is a character. She loves to lay on the washer / dryer when it is running. I have never figured out why.

I had the same problem as you.

I couldn't even add it to cart in Chrome, had to switch to IE to even get that far and then I got the same messages you did.
