Not sure which device that is. Certainly not the Kindle Fire HDX.

Which device is that? It doesn't fit any device that I see on the list.

My HDX doesn't have these popups and to be quite honest just about all tablets can be accused of the same thing in someway or another. There isn't a tablet out there that doesn't point you to their store so you can purchase more stuff. To accuse Amazon of this, when google, apple, samsung and a whole host of others that sell tablets and have their own stores and do the same thing is simply ludicrous.

So they have special offers for screen savers, first they are not intrusive and secondly, can be turned off. But to exagerate and say "Buy Me" popups everywhere is purely untrue.

Yeah, Apple does everything they can to point you to iTunes, Android to google play, Amazon to Amazon........it is how devices work these days and Amazon is not outside the norm in that respect.

Not sure how the 2013 Nexus 7 comes, but I had the 2012 version (which I loved, btw), and I remember that the default homepage on it was ONE GIANT AD for various Google Play stores that you could buy from. Talk about blatant selling! Amazon has quite a ways to go to live up to THOSE big kahunas.

On the N7 2013 version those are just widgets that can be removed. You can't removed Amazon's UI at all but you can turn off the annoying recommendations on the front page. I wish you could do that on the Android app.

I think he means the buy me or shop buttons that are everywhere.

They are everywhere on my transformer as well. On every screen top right hand cornor the shop icon and can be found; also in playbooks, magazine, video & music apps as well (no different than Amazon).

My point is that all of them Amazon,Google, Sony, Samsung, Apple, and Kobo are guilty of this, so to accuse Amazon of this while the other blatantly do the same is disingenuous.

On the KF though it's everywhere not just one place it's on every menu, search and tab. It's peppered with buy me everywhere. The first Kindle Fire did not have this. It had a shop button on each tab that's it. The New Kindle Fires are a walking Amazon store.

They marveled at the weight of the Ipad Air, yet the HDX 8.9 is almost three ounces lighter. In fact, it is lighter than the first generation 7 inch fire HD.

OK, so you mean the "store" option to top right of the screen?

I guess I don't see the problem with that. I just see it as more convinient and other than that I don't see the difference. So instead of having to click on the iTunes app or google play app, you have the option of just clicking "store" in any given tab.

No Look at your HDX go to say Books now click the menu button on the left and look there is a menu for the store. It's like this in every tab. Now do a search the results will show you stuff you can buy in the store as well what is your library. There is also a store button on every tab and of course the Shop tab as well. Oh let's not forget the home page recommendations those can be turned off the other stuff can't.

I have no problem with a shop button each tab but this is overkill. The search one is annoying I don't want to search the store I want to search my items.

Yeah, I've seen the menu on the left but I generally don't even use it. Though, when I bought the device I fully inteneded to immerse myself into the Amazon ecosystem so I guess it doesn't bother me as much as it would others.

I use the left menu alot as I have alot of Amazon content. I am a Audible member, Amazon Cloud Player Subscriber, Prime member and Have over 6000 books so I want to access my content without accidentally clicking the store which I have done several times. The search is the most annoying part.

The search works on mine. I can search my content but the Amazon store stuff comes up as well.
