For those who want 3.1.1 and haven't had it pushed to them yet, the links are in the Direct Links thread in the Developer's Corner.

Unfortunately, the What's New in 3.1.1 opens the New in 2.10.0 so not much help in figuring out just what's changed.

There is now a tile, that indicates your now using 3.1.1 whats new did not see much to it though.

got it too, so this update seems to be largely and rather universaly released... not having to wait to get it by "natural ways" is exceptionnel... Not a clue about what changed, let's see at use

AAAARRRRGGGHHHHH! After FINALLY getting rid of all the extraneous collections on all my devices, after this update...they're back. For crying out loud. They fix one thing and break another!

Edited...I had only kept one collection, Library Books...and not only do I now have three Library Books collections, the 6 library books I had in the collection aren't even listed...I have three empty Library Books collections...

Unfortunately, the duplicating shelf problem is something that happens on the server. From Kobo:

I just noticed that mine have duplicated. The things you can do are:

- Complain to Kobo and get them to clean up the shelves on the server. Then a sync should fix things.

- Use my Kobo Utilities plugin for calibre. It has a function to clean this up. A sync afterwards is needed.

- Manually edit the database on the device to cleanup the shelves.

- Add "SyncShelves=false" to the "ApplicationPreferences" of the "Kobe eReader.conf" file. This prevents the shelves from syncing to the server. If you use this, you will also need to do one of the above to get rid of the duplicates.

I had wondered as when I synced my Nexus earlier I had seen tons of collections there.

That's the main reason as to why I don't bother with Shelves (or Collections or whatever it's called today). Kobo just don't seem able to get them working properly without occasionally stuffing them up at their end!

3.1.1 fixes vertical spacing bug introduced in 3.1.0
Yay, Kobo! Firmware 3.1.1 does indeed fix the bug that eliminated vertical spacing between elements in many .kepub.epub ebooks rendered with the ACCESS engine.

I had 73 pages.

I checked the database, and it is all the old shelves being brought back to live. I used the utilities plugin to get rid of them. But, they came back after a sync. The second time it worked.
